Team Volleyball Manila (originally, Team Volleyball Madness) is a professional volleyball team in the Philippines playing in various tournaments, including the Spikers' Turf (previously with the Premier Volleyball League) and Philippine Superliga (PSL). History The team debuted in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) as the Systema Active Smashers (under the sponsorship of Peerless Products Manufacturing Corporation), playing as one of the pioneer teams in the men's division. The team also participated in the inaugural men's conference of the Shakey's V-League (the precursor of the Spikers' Turf). Mapúa Cardinals
The Mapúa Cardinals are the varsity sports teams of Mapúa University that play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines). The Mapúa Cardinals holds the NCAA record for the most General Championships in the seniors' division with a total of 20—the last of these championships was won in 1993. At distant second is the Colegio de San Juan de Letran which has eight seniors' titles. Of the total seniors' GCs won by the Cardinals, ten were from the 1980s to the mid-1990s, in addition to three (out of a total eight) in the juniors' division over the same period. The Instituto Estetico Manila Volley Masters are a professional men's volleyball team playing in various tournaments, including the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) and the Spikers' Turf. The team is owned by Instituto Estetico Manila, a dental and dermatological clinic. In 2014, the team joined the Philippine Super Liga in its 2014 All-Filipino Conference. This was followed by its participation in the inaugural men's tournament of the Shakey's V-League, where it emerged as that league's first men's champion. History Cosmetic surgeon Reyvic Cerilles established a women's volleyball team in 2001 which took part in the two-woman tournament Club 650. UE Red Warriors refer to the collegiate men's varsity teams of the University of the East. The women's collegiate varsity teams are called the UE Lady Warriors. The Athletic director of the University of the East is Rodrigo M. Roque. Background The University of the East is one of eight schools participating in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. Jovelyn Gonzaga
Jovelyn Gonzaga is a Filipino volleyball athlete. She was a member and team captain of Central Philippine University volleyball team. She is currently a member of the Army Black Mamba Energy Lady Troopers in the Premier Volleyball League, in which she plays as an opposite hitter. She is also a member of the Philippine volleyball National Team. Career Gonzaga became Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference Most Valuable Player in 2013. The RC Cola-Army Troopers were a professional women's volleyball team in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL). It debuted as the RC Cola Raiders in the 2013 Grand Prix Conference of the PSL. The team is owned by ARC Refreshments Corporation, the Philippine licensee of Royal Crown Cola International. Aiza Maizo-Pontillas (born February 29, 1988) is a Filipina professional volleyball player. She was a former member and team captain of the UST Golden Tigresses, and a member of the Philippines women's national volleyball team. She led the España-based squad to its 16th and, as of 2018, latest championship in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) league. She was a Shakey's V-League (SVL) three-time Finals and two-time Season Most Valuable Player. The Petron Blaze Spikers were a professional women's volleyball team that played in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) from 2013 to 2020. After the cancellation of the 2020 season of the PSL due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the team took a leave of absence from the league and released all its players. The team was owned by Petron Corporation. The company's involvement in volleyball began in 2002 when it established the Petron Ladies Beach Volleyball Tournament.
