The 2016 Mountain West Conference football season was the 18th season of college football for the Mountain West Conference (MW). In the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season, the MW had 12 football members: Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State, and Wyoming. Donnel Pumphrey
Donnel Laray Pumphrey Jr. (born December 6, 1994) is a former American football running back. He played college football at San Diego State Aztecs football, San Diego State. Pumphrey is the official all-time leader in rushing yards in NCAA Division I FBS history. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and spent offseasons with the Eagles and Detroit Lions. He played for the DC Defenders of the XFL (2020), XFL in 2020. Early years Pumphrey attended Canyon Springs High School (North Las Vegas, Nevada), Canyon Springs High School in North Las Vegas, Nevada. As a senior, he was the Gatorade High School Football Player of the Year for Nevada after rushing for 1,491 yards on 160 carries with 19 touchdowns. The 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season was the highest level of college football competition in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The regular season began on August 26, 2016 and ended on December 10, 2016. The postseason concluded on January 9, 2017 with the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship, where the Clemson Tigers defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide to claim their second national title in school history.
