2016 J3 League
The 2016 Meiji Yasuda J3 League (2016 明治安田生命J3リーグ) is the 20th season of the third tier in Japanese football, and the 3rd season of the professional J3 League. Clubs To participate, a club must have held an associate membership, or have submitted an application before 30 June 2015, and then passed an inspection to obtain a participation license issued by the J.League Council. The J.League has confirmed the following clubs participating in the 2016 J3 season: Competition rules For this season, the league is played in two rounds (home-and-away), each team playing a total of 30 matches. Each team must have at least 3 players holding professional contracts. Also for this season, three foreign players are allowed per team, plus 1 more from the ASEAN partner country of J.League or from other AFC countries. is a Japanese football club currently playing in J2 League, having been relegated after the 2021 season after a three-year stint in J1 League. , commonly referred to as Tochigi SC are a football club based in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. They currently play in the J2 League. History Teachers in Tochigi Prefecture founded the club in 1953. They were initially called self-explanatory Tochigi Teachers' Soccer Club (栃木教員サッカー部 ''Tochigi Kyōin Sakkā Bu''). Gamba Osaka Under−23 was a Japanese football team based in Suita, Osaka. It was the reserve team of Gamba Osaka and played in J3 League which they have done since their entry to the league at the beginning of the 2016 season. They played the majority of their home games at Panasonic Stadium Suita with some played at Expo '70 Commemorative Stadium.
