2016 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The 2016 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship was the 40th edition of the FIM World motorcycle speedway Under-21 Championships. It was staged over three rounds, at King's Lynn, Pardubice and Gdańsk. The championship was won by triple Australian Under-21 Champion Max Fricke who become Australia's fifth Under-21 World Champion. Fricke's consistent run over the series in which he finished 3rd in the first two rounds and 2nd in the final round saw him score 46 points. Finishing in second place was Polish rider Krystian Pieszczek with 40 points while British rider Robert Lambert defeated Australia's Jack Holder (the younger brother of 2012 Speedway World Champion Chris Holder) in a run-off in the final round in Poland to claim 3rd place after both riders finished the series on 37 points. Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. History Between 1977 and 1987 the Championship was the called Individual Speedway Junior European Championship (European Speedway Under 21 Championship), open only to European riders. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. A new competition was named Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was founded by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) in 1998, only open to European competitors. Nathan Robert Greaves (born 24 February 1998, Sheffield) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from England. Career Greaves started his British speedway career for the Cradley Heathens in 2013. He raced with Swindon Robins as a fast track reserve in 2014 before joining Workington Comets for the 2014 Premier League speedway season. Also in 2014, he was part of the Cradley team that won the National League Fours, held on 26 October 2014 at Brandon Stadium. Zach Wajtknecht
Zach Wajtknecht (born 8 February 1998) is a British speedway rider. Career At an early age Wajtknecht became a double World Champion, twice triumphing in the FIM 125cc Grasstrack Youth Gold Trophy. He followed up these successes by being crowned British 250cc Youth Champion in 2013 and winner of the FIM 250cc Longtrack Youth World Cup in 2014. These successes led to Zach being awarded the prestigious Pinhard trophy, a trophy he described himself as being "over the moon" to win. Wajtknecht was handed his big break in Speedway by the newly reformed National League Birmingham Brummies ahead of the 2015 season, the team's first season in the third tier of British Speedway. The team was put together by former manager Phil Morris, the newly appointed FIM Race Director for the Speedway Grand Prix series.
