2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Men's 1500 Metres
The men's 1500 metres at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place on March 18 and 20, 2016. In the finals, defending champion Ayanleh Souleiman didn't take the lead from the gun, but ran around the field on the first lap to assume first place by the end of the first lap. Dawit Wolde, Aman Wote followed and Matthew Centrowitz, Jr., Matt Centrowitz affixed himself to the outside in third place. At 800 metres (jogged in 2:07.88), Chris O'Hare made a run at the lead, but everybody just sped up and maintained their formation. With 400 metres to go, Nicholas Willis made a stronger move to the front which succeeded, Souleiman disappeared out the back with the other leaders in hot pursuit. With a lap to go, Centrowitz got past Wolde for some free running room at Willis three metres ahead. Centrowitz eased his way closer to Willis through the next three quarters of a lap, making a strong move off the final turn sprinting ahead to a one-metre victory. From seventh place, ... The Oregon Convention Center is a convention center in Portland, Oregon. Chris O'Hare
Chris O'Hare (born 23 November 1990) is a Scottish middle-distance runner who competes in the 1500 metres. He has represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and Great Britain at the 2016 Olympic Games. Personal life O'Hare was born and brought up in West Linton and attended Peebles High School. He subsequently completed a degree in sports science at the University of Tulsa in the United States, together with his sister Olivia. His younger brother Dominic competed in middle-distance running in Scotland. O'Hare is married and is a fan of Celtic FC. Erick Rodríguez (born 1 June 1990) is a Nicaraguan middle-distance runner competing in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres steeplechase. He represented his country at the 2015 World Championships and 2016 World Indoor Championships without advancing from the first round. Bethwell Birgen (born 6 August 1988) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner. His personal best of 3:30.77 minutes for the 1500 metres ranks him among the top fifty ever for the event, while his indoor best of 3:34.65 minutes is among the top twenty. He represented Kenya in the 1500 m at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships and the 2013 World Championships in Athletics, but did not make the final on either occasion. Charles Da'Vall Grice (born 7 November 1993), informally known as Charlie Grice, is a British middle distance athlete. Athletics career Grice started out as both a footballer, playing at county level, and an athlete, but balancing them both led to injuries and he decided to solely focus on athletics. He had a breakthrough in 2010, when he broke the English Schools' Athletics Association Championships record in the final of the 1500 metres as well as taking the title. He went on from this to win bronze at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in the 1000 metres, after coming second at the European Trials event in Russia. In 2012 he broke Steve Ovett's British junior mile record, running 3:57.90 at the London Grand Prix in Crystal Palace as part of the Diamond League. Robert Adrian Andrews (born March 29, 1991) is an American middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 and 1500 meters. While competing with University of Virginia he won the men's 800 meters at the 2011 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
