2016 FA Women's Cup Final
The 2016 FA Women's Cup Final was the 46th final of the FA Women's Cup, England's primary cup competition for women's football teams. The showpiece event was the 23rd to be played directly under the auspices of the Football Association (FA) and was named the SSE Women's FA Cup Final for sponsorship reasons. The final was contested between Arsenal Ladies and Chelsea Ladies on 14 May 2016 at Wembley Stadium in London. The match was the second FA Women's Cup Final to be held at Wembley. Chelsea, managed by Emma Hayes, went into the match as defending champions, having won the 2015 FA Cup, while Arsenal, managed by Pedro Martínez Losa, had won the competition on thirteen previous occasions. 2015–16 FA Women's Cup
The 2015–16 Women's FA Cup was the 46th staging of the FA Women's Cup, a knockout cup competition for women's football teams in England. Chelsea were the defending champions, having beaten Notts County 1–0 in the previous final. Arsenal were crowned champions, beating Chelsea 1–0. The showpiece event was the 21st to be played directly under the auspices of the Football Association (FA). The final was contested between Arsenal Ladies and Everton Ladies on 1 June 2014 at stadium:mk in Milton Keynes. Holders Arsenal made its 14th final appearance, after winning the 2013 final. Everton was appearing in its fifth final. As FA WSL 1 clubs, both teams entered the competition at the fifth round stage. Arsenal beat Gillingham (2–0), Birmingham City (2–1) and Chelsea (5–3) to reach the final. Everton defeated Cardiff City (3–1), Liverpool (2–0) and Notts County (2–1). María Victoria Losada Gómez (born 5 March 1991) is a Spanish football midfielder who plays for AS Roma and the Spain national team. Fara Tanya Franki Merrett MBE (born 25 January 1984) is an English former footballer who played as a central midfielder for multiple clubs, as well as the English national team. A consistent goalscorer and set-piece specialist, Williams was considered one of England's leading players. After making her senior debut in 2001, Williams earned 172 caps for the England Women's Team, making her their highest capped player. Emma Mukandi ( Mitchell; born 19 September 1992) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays for FA WSL club Reading.
