2016 EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (women)
The 2016 EuroHockey Club Champions Cup is the 44th edition of the premier European competition for women's field hockey clubs. For the second year in a row, SCHC has the honour to organize the championship. The tournament was played in Bilthoven, Netherlands between 13 May and 16 May 2016. Eight teams from six countries participated in the tournament. Uhlenhorster Hockey-Club e. V. (also known as UHC Hamburg) is a German professional field hockey and tennis club based in Hamburg. It was founded in 1901, since 1923 their home ground is located in Hummelsbüttel, Wandsbek. Uhlenhorster HC is one of the most successful clubs in Germany, both at the Senior and Academy levels, with squads playing in the Men's and Women's Bundesligas. Marlies Verbruggen (field Hockey)
Marlies Verbruggen (born 8 January 1988) is a Belgian footballer, who has represented the national side on 41 occasions. At club level, she most recently played for Anderlecht. Club career Verbruggen was part of the Sint-Truidense team that won the 2009–10 Belgian Women's First Division. In 2013, Verbruggen signed for Beerschot AC, who were playing in the BeNe League. Prior to the 2013–14 season starting, the team moved to Antwerp and became Royal Antwerp, and Verbruggen captained Antwerp in the 2013–14 season. Verbruggen played for Oud-Heverlee Leuven in the 2014–15 BeNe League. In November 2015, Verbruggen scored for Anderlecht in a match against her former team Oud-Heverlee Leuven. Margot van Geffen (born 23 November 1989) is a Dutch field hockey player. She took up field hockey aged six and since 2011 is a member of the Dutch national team. She won the 2014 World Cup and a gold and a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, 2016 Olympics, respectively. Vera Vorstenbosch (born 10 April 1987) is a former field hockey player from the Netherlands, who played as a forward. Personal life Vera Vorstenbosch was born and raised in Engelen, North Brabant.
