2016 Copa Verde
The 2016 Copa Verde was the 3rd edition of the Copa Verde football competition held in Brazil. Featuring 18 clubs, Amazonas and Distrito Federal has two vacancies; Acre, Amapá, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins with one each. The others four berths was set according to CBF ranking. In the finals, Paysandu defeated Gama 3–2 on aggregate to win their first title and a place in the Round of 16 of the 2017 Copa do Brasil. Paysandu Sport Club, commonly referred to as Paysandu, is a Brazilian professional club based in Belém, Pará founded on 2 February 1914. It competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the third tier of Brazilian football, as well as in the Campeonato Paraense, the top flight of the Pará state football league. Paysandu is the top ranked team from Pará in CBF's national club ranking, at 40th overall. Nacional Fast Clube, or Fast Clube, as they are usually called, is a Brazilian football team from Manaus in Amazonas, founded on 8 July 1930. Fast is the second-best ranked team from Amazonas in CBF's national club ranking, behind Manaus. History The club was founded by a group of members and players of the Nacional, who commanded by the leader Vivaldo Lima and the player then captain of the team Rodolpho Gonçalves decided to leave the club. The reason for the discord was a political maneuver of the then president of the Nacional, Leopoldo Mattos with change of the statute of the Nacional on the eve of the presidential election, taking the players the right to vote. The athletes wanted Vivaldo Lima for the presidency, and were closed around the name of the doctor and leader. The 2015 Campeonato Amapaense de Futebol was the 25th edition of Amapá's top professional football league. The competition began on 4 July and ended on 26 September. Rio Branco Football Club, commonly referred to as Rio Branco, is a Brazilian professional club based in Rio Branco, Acre founded on 8 June 1919. It competes in the Campeonato Acreano, the top flight of the Acre state football league.
