2016 Chicago White Sox Season
The 2016 Chicago White Sox season was the club's 117th season in Chicago and 116th in the American League. The White Sox wore a black diamond patch on the uniform in honor of the late Eddie Einhorn, minority owner of the team. Despite a strong start by the team, they finished the season in fourth place in the AL Central. The White Sox tied a major league record for most home runs by a losing team when they hit seven homers in a 10–8 defeat to Toronto on June 25. American League Central
The American League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed in the realignment of 1994 by moving three teams from the American League West and two teams from the American League East. Its teams are all located in the Midwestern United States. Along with the National League East, the AL Central is one of two divisions in the Major Leagues in which all of its members have won a World Series title. In fact, each team has captured at least two World Series championships. The Kansas City Royals were the most recent team from the division to win the World Series. WRTO (1200 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish sports format. Licensed to Chicago, Illinois, United States, the station serves the Chicago area. It is owned by Univision subsidiary Univision Radio Illinois, Inc., and features local programming as well as shows originating at other Univision Radio stations. Ryan Madson
Ryan Michael Madson (born August 28, 1980) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Madson won World Series championships with the Phillies in 2008 and the Royals in 2015. Sonny Douglas Gray (born November 7, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, and Cincinnati Reds. Gray attended Vanderbilt University and played college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores. Nathan Andrew Jones (born January 28, 1986) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Baseball career Jones attended Pendleton County High School in Falmouth, Kentucky. David Alan Robertson (born April 9, 1985), nicknamed D-Rob, is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago Cubs, and Philadelphia Phillies. Robertson played college baseball for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
