2015–16 Sydney FC Season
The 2015–16 Sydney FC season was the club's eleventh season since its establishment in 2004. The club participated in the A-League for the eleventh time, the FFA Cup for the second time, as well as the AFC Champions League for the third time. Preview Preseason Sydney FC began the pre-season with a 7–0 win over Earlwood Wanderers. The club then announced the annual Macarthur Rams pre-season clash. The match took place on 30 July 2015, with Sydney FC cruising to a comfortable 5–1 victory. For both games, Sydney FC fielded mainly youth players and trialist's, of which included Matt Simon and Alex Mullen who would later go on to sign for the club. The club announced a third pre-season friendly against a team of Gold Coast Premier League All-stars for mid-August. Sydney Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Sydney, New South Wales. AFC Champions League
The AFC Champions League (abbreviated as ACL) is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation, and contested by Asia's top-division football clubs. It is the most prestigious club competition in Asian football, played by the national league champions (and, for some nations, one or more runners-up) of their national associations. Marc Janko (born 25 June 1983) is an Austrian former professional footballer who played as a striker. Janko was a successful goal-scorer, particularly during his time at Austrian Bundesliga club Red Bull Salzburg, where he scored 75 league goals in 108 matches, including 39 goals in 35 matches in the 2009–10 season. He is the son of Eva Janko, who won a bronze medal in the women's Javelin event at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. Andrew James Hoole (born 22 October 1993) is an Australian semi-professional football (soccer) player who last played as a winger for Broadmeadow Magic in the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW. Club career Newcastle Jets Hoole earned his first call up for the Jets after impressing in the Newcastle Jets Youth League squad. 2014–15 A-League
The 2014–15 A-League was the 38th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the 10th season of the A-League since its establishment in 2004. Brisbane Roar were both the defending A-League Premiers and Champions. The regular season commenced on 10 October 2014 and concluded on 26 April 2015. The 2015 Grand Final took place on 17 May 2015. Alex Mullen
Alexander Mullen (born 13 June 1992) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Para Hills Knights SC. Personal life Mullen is the brother of Matthew, cousin of former Newcastle Jets player Daniel Mullen and the nephew of Joe Mullen, a former Socceroo. Club career Sydney FC Sydney FC signed Mullen on a one-year deal as a mature age rookie ahead of the 2015–16 season after trialling him in the pre-season.
