2015–16 Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2015–16 Mid-American Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2015, followed by the start of the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play began in January 2016 and concluded in March 2016. Akron won the regular season title with a conference record of 13–5 over second place Ohio. Third-seeded Buffalo defeated Akron in the MAC tournament final and represented the MAC in the NCAA tournament where they lost to Miami (FL) in the first round. Preseason awards The preseason poll and league awards were announced by the league office on October 28, 2015. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. 2015–16 Central Michigan Chippewas Men's Basketball Team
The 2015–16 Central Michigan Chippewas men's basketball team represented Central Michigan University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Chippewas, led by fourth year head coach Keno Davis, played their home games at McGuirk Arena as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 17–16, 10–8 in MAC play to finish in a tie for the West Division championship. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAC tournament to Bowling Green. Braylon Rayson
Braylon Rayson (born December 25, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for BK Ogre of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. He played college basketball for the Central Michigan Chippewas. In 2019, he was named NBL Canada Player of the Year. Blake Ellis Hamilton (born October 26, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for APOEL of Cyprus Basketball Division 1. He played college basketball at Buffalo. Thomas Wilder (born May 14, 1995) is an American basketball player for Nürnberg Falcons BC of the German ProA league. He played college basketball the Western Michigan. Keith Brett Dambrot (born October 26, 1958) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach of Duquesne University. During his high school head coaching career, he coached future NBA star LeBron James for two years.
