2015–16 F4 Chinese Championship
The 2015–16 F4 Chinese Championship season (Castrol Cup FIA F4 CHINESE CHAMPIONSHIP) was the inaugural season of the F4 Chinese Championship. It began on 5 July 2015 at the Goldenport Park Circuit in Beijing and finished on 10 January 2016 at the Zhuhai International Circuit after five double header rounds. Teams and drivers Race calendar and results * A six–round provisional calendar was revealed on 28 February 2015. In April, the scheduled season-opening round – that was due to be held at Zhuhai – was cancelled, with the season being shortened to five rounds. The then scheduled first round at Chengdu in June was also cancelled, and a new round at Zhuhai was added to be the season-ending round in January 2016. All rounds will be held in China. F4 Chinese Championship
F4 Chinese Championship () is a racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4. The inaugural season was the 2015–16 edition. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched the FIA Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of Formula 4 is to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. It involves sporting and technical regulations and regulates costs. Cars competing in this category are not allowed to cost more than €30,000. A single season in a Formula 4 may not exceed €100,000. The Spanish F4 is planned to be the one of the second phase Formula 4 championships. The first phase championships was the Italian F4 Championship and the Formula 4 Sudamericana, which started in 2014. In motorsport, the fastest lap is the quickest lap run during a race. Some racing series, like Formula One, Formula 2 and Formula E award championship points for a driver or team that set the fastest lap. Zhuhai (, ; Yale: ''Jyūhói''), also known as Chuhai is a prefecture-level city located on the west bank of Pearl River estuary on the central coast of southern Guangdong province, People's Republic of China, on the southeastern edge of Pearl River Delta. Shanghai International Circuit
The Shanghai International Circuit () is a motorsport race track, situated in the Jiading District, Shanghai. The circuit is best known as the venue for the annual Chinese Grand Prix which was hosted from 2004 to 2019 and was scheduled again from 2024 onwards, but its race was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. History Shanghai International Circuit was conceived by the Shanghai authorities as a way to showcase the city to the world. A 5.3 sq km site was chosen in the Jiading District in the north west of the city, close to major car parts manufacturing facilities and a budget of 2.6 billion yuan ($450 million) raised through a government-funded joint-venture company, the Shanghai Jiushi Group.
