2015–16 Bayernliga
The 2015–16 season of the Bayernliga, the second highest association football league in Bavaria, was the eighth season of the league at tier five (V) of the German football league system and the 71st season overall since establishment of the league in 1945. The league season started on 17 July 2015 and ended on 21 May 2016. It was interrupted by a winter break, which lasted from early December 2015 to late February 2016. Modus The northern and southern divisions of the Bayernliga consist of 18 clubs each. Clubs in each division will play each other in a home-and-away format with no league games played between clubs from different divisions during the regular season. The champions of each division are directly promoted to the Regionalliga, subject to fulfilling the licensing regulations of the later with no overall Bayernliga championship game being played between the two league winners. Bayernliga
The Bayernliga (English: Bavarian league) is the highest amateur football league and the second highest football league (under the Regionalliga Bayern) in the state of Bavaria (german: Bayern) and the Bavarian football league system. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. From the 2012–13 season onwards, the league has been divided once more into a northern and a southern division, having previously placed in single division format since 1963. SV Erlenbach
The SV Erlenbach is a German association football club from the town of Erlenbach am Main, Bavaria. The club's greatest success came in 2013 when it qualified for the northern division of Bayernliga, the fifth tier of the German football league system. History While football was played in Erlenbach before the First World War it was not until after the war that it became organised when FV Viktoria Erlenbach was formed on 19 March 1919. The inspiration for the name Viktoria came from Viktoria Aschaffenburg, formed in 1901, which functioned as a "godparent" for the new club. 2016–17 Regionalliga
The 2016–17 Regionalliga was the ninth season of the Regionalliga, the fifth under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. Regionalliga Nord 18 teams from the states of Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein competed in the fifth season of the reformed Regionalliga Nord; 15 teams were retained from last season and 3 were promoted from the Oberliga, namely 2015–16 Niedersachsenliga champions Lupo Martini Wolfsburg and promotion round winners SV Eichede, 2015–16 Schleswig-Holstein-Liga champions, and 1. VfL Frohnlach
VfL Frohnlach is a German association football club from the municipality of Frohnlach in Ebersdorf bei Coburg, Bavaria. __TOC__ History The club was established as ''Sports Club Arminia Frohnlach'' in 1919 and, after a 1925 merger with ''Turnverein Frohnlach'', became ''Verein für Leibesübungen 1919 e. SpVgg Jahn Forchheim
The SpVgg Jahn Forchheim is a German association football club from the town of Forchheim, Bavaria. Forchheim is located in Upper Franconia but the club competes in the football leagues of neighbouring Middle Franconia. Apart from football, the club also offers other sports like tennis, badminton and volleyball. The club's greatest success came in 1994, when it earned promotion to the tier-four Fußball-Bayernliga for the first time. FV 04 Würzburg is a German association football club from the city of Würzburg, Bavaria founded in 1904 as ''1. Würzburger FV 04''. TSV Aubstadt
The TSV Aubstadt is a German association football club from the town of Aubstadt, Bavaria. The club qualified for the new northern division of the expanded Bayernliga in 2012, the fifth tier of the German football league system. In 2019, the team promoted to tier-four Regionalliga Bayern after winning the Bayernliga Nord championship. History For most of its history the club has been a non-descript amateur side in local Bavarian football. SC Eltersdorf
The SC Eltersdorf is a German association football club from the Eltersdorf district of Erlangen, Bavaria. An amateur club who has mostly played in the lower leagues of Bavaria, the club achieved its greatest success in 2011–12 when it earned promotion to the Regionalliga. History While football was played in Eltersdorf as early as 1909, in the form of the ''Franken Eltersdorf'', the current club dates back to 1926. With support from another local working maes club, the ATSV Erlangen, ATSV Eltersdorf was formed in 1926. The Alemannia Haibach is a German association football club from the town of Haibach, Bavaria. The club's most notable moment came in 1996–97, when it spent a season in the tier four Fußball-Bayernliga. It also once qualified for German Cup play in 1979 but was knocked out in the first round by VfL Frohnlach in an 8–4 loss after extra time. SpVgg SV Weiden
SpVgg SV Weiden, formerly just SpVgg Weiden, is a German association football club from the city of Weiden, Bavaria. Playing in the tier-four Regionalliga Süd in 2010–11, the club had to declare insolvency after being more than Euro 1 million in debt. Unable to raise enough funds to continue competing in the league, Weiden declared on 30 November 2010 that it would withdraw its Regionalliga team and thereby automatically be relegated. All games for the club in the 2010–11 season were declared void. History The side originated with the 1912 establishment of a football department in the gymnastics club ''Turnerbund Weiden''.
