2015 Men's EuroHockey Championship
The 2015 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 15th edition of the men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. It was held from 21–29 August 2015 in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, England. The Netherlands men's national field hockey team, Netherlands defeated the 2013 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship, defending champions Germany men's national field hockey team, Germany 6–1 in the final to capture their fourth title, while Ireland men's national field hockey team, Ireland won their first-ever medal by beating the hosts England men's national field hockey team, England 4–2. David Ames (field Hockey)
David Vincent Leslie Ames (born 25 June 1989) is an Irish field hockey player, who plays as a defender or midfielder for Oranje-Rood and the England and Great Britain national teams. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics and was a member of the England team that won the bronze medal at the 2017 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. He also represented England at the 2018 Men's Hockey World Cup. Club career Cookstown High School Ames attended Cookstown High School between 2001 and 2009. Between 2007 and 2009 he captained the Cookstown High School team that won the All Ireland Schoolboys Hockey Championship and two successive Burney Cup/ McCullough Cup doubles. Nick Catlin
Nicholas Andrew "Nick" Catlin (born 8 April 1989) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder. Catlin is from Marlow, and attended John Hampden Grammar School. Club career Catlin has played club hockey in England for Holcombe, Reading, Loughborough Students and East Grinstead. He also played for Racing Bruxelles in Belgium. He joined Rotterdam in the Dutch Hoofdklasse in 2017. After one season he left Rotterdam and he returned to Belgium to play for Beerschot. Mark Gleghorne (born 19 May 1985) is a field hockey player from Northern Ireland who has represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Gleghorne was a member of the England teams that won the bronze medals at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games and at the 2017 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship. He also represented England at the 2014 and 2018 Men's Hockey World Cups. At club level, Gleghorne was a member of the Instonians team that won the Irish Senior Cup in both 2002 and 2004. Samuel Ian Ward (born 24 December 1990), known as Sam Ward, is an English field hockey player who plays as a forward for Old Georgians and the England and Great Britain national teams. Club career Ward plays club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Old Georgians. He has also played club hockey for Beeston (3 spells), Holcombe, Loughborough Students and Leicester. Iain Lewers (born 5 January 1984) is a field hockey player from Northern Ireland who represented Ireland, England and Great Britain at international level. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. He was also a member the England teams that won bronze medals at the 2011 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship and 2014 Commonwealth Games. Barry Middleton
Barry John Middleton (born 12 January 1984) is regarded as one of the greatest British field hockey players in history. He played as a midfielder and forward for England and Great Britain and is the most capped British hockey player in history and captained his country for many years. Middleton was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2020 New Year Honours for services to hockey. Club career Middleton plays club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Holcombe. Mink Van Der Weerden
Mink Alphons Louis van der Weerden (; born 19 October 1988) is a Dutch field hockey player who plays as a defender for German Bundesliga club Rot-Weiss Köln. He started playing hockey at HCAS and has since also played for Oranje Zwart and Oranje-Rood. He joined Rot-Weiss Köln in the summer of 2020. Van der Weerden made his debut for the national team in 2010 and has since played in three Olympic Games, two World Cups and three European Championships. He studies physiotherapy. Billy Bakker
Billy Pierre Bakker (; born 23 November 1988) is a Dutch former field hockey player who played as a midfielder or forward for the Netherlands men's national field hockey team, Dutch national team. Bakker scored a total of 65 goals in 236 appearances for the national team from 2009 until 2021. Club career Bakker started playing hockey at age six at Randwijck. When he was 10 years old he moved to Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club, Amsterdam, where he made his debut in the first senior team in 2007. In 2012 he became the captain of the team.
