2015 International Championship
The 2015 International Championship was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 25 October and 1 November 2015 at the Baihu Media Broadcasting Centre in Daqing, China. It was the third ranking event of the 2015/2016 season. Ricky Walden was the defending champion, but he lost 4–6 against Tian Pengfei in the qualifying round. John Higgins won his 28th ranking title, defeating David Gilbert 10–5 in the final. International Championship
The International Championship is a professional ranking snooker tournament. The reigning champion is Judd Trump. History The event was introduced in the 2012/2013 season. It was named as the "first overseas 'major'", because the tournament had the same level of ranking points as the UK Championship. With the change in the rankings system from points to prize money, the International Championship had the third highest prize fund and winner's cheque of any ranking event on the snooker calendar, behind the World and UK Championships, and the highest outside of the United Kingdom, until 2018 when the China Open had its winner's cheque raised to £225,000. World Professional Billiards And Snooker Association
The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) is the governing body of professional snooker and English billiards based in Bristol, England. It owns and publishes the official rules of the two sports and engages in promotional activities. The Professional Billiard Players Association (PBPA) was founded in 1946, and, after some years of inactivity, was revived in 1968 and renamed the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association in 1970. It owns a 26 per cent share of World Snooker, which organises the professional snooker ranking circuit events. Kyren Wilson
Kyren Wilson (; born 23 December 1991) is an English professional snooker player from Kettering and a five-time ranking event winner. He has been a runner-up at two of the three Triple Crown events, having reached the final at both the 2018 Masters and the 2020 World Snooker Championship. Wilson reached his highest world ranking of fourth in 2020. A prolific breakbuilder, Wilson has made over 350 century breaks and a maximum break on three occasions. Wilson turned professional in 2010 after finishing fifth in the 2009–2010 International Open Series rankings. Liang Wenbo
Liang Wenbo (; born 25 March 1987) is a Chinese professional snooker player based at the Oracle Snooker Club, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England. Liang, who plays left-handed, has reached one Triple Crown final, made three Masters appearances, and won one ranking title at the inaugural English Open in 2016. He twice won the World Cup for China along with teammate Ding Junhui. Liang has made three maximum breaks in his career, and reached an all-time high of 11th in the world rankings. Liang was suspended from professional competition from 2 April until 1 August 2022 for bringing the sport into disrepute, following a domestic assault conviction. Andrew Higginson
Andrew Higginson (born 13 December 1977) is an English former professional snooker player from Widnes, Cheshire. He is best known for being the surprise finalist of the 2007 Welsh Open. Career Early years After some success in amateur tournaments, Higginson turned professional for the 2000/2001 season after finishing third on the Challenge Tour. Cao Yupeng
Cao Yupeng (; born 27 October 1990) is a Chinese professional snooker player. He won the 2011 Asian Under-21 Championship, thus qualifying for the professional main tour for the 2011–12 season. In his first season on the circuit, he reached the last 16 of the World Championship. He served a ban for match-fixing from 25 May 2018 until 24 November 2020. Wang Yuchen (snooker Player)
Wang Yuchen (born 5 August 1997 in Henan) is a Chinese former professional snooker player. Career Wang Yuchen first drew international attention in September 2013 at the 2013 Shanghai Masters when competing as a wildcard he defeated Joe Perry to reach the last 32 of the tournament where he eventually lost to 3–5 Neil Robertson. Aditya Mehta
Aditya Mehta (born 31 October 1985 in Mumbai, India) is an Indian former professional snooker player. He participated on the World Snooker Tour for the 2007–08 season, and between 2011 and 2018. He reached a highest world ranking of 49. Mehta participated in the final of ranking event for the first time at the 2013 Indian Open where he played Ding Junhui, but lost 0–5. Mehta has several medals at the Asian and World Games. He won the gold at the men's event at the 2013 World Games, and the team event at the 2009 Asian Games. Chen Zifan
Chen Zifan (, born 17 September 1995) is a Chinese professional snooker player who, in 2023, received a five-year ban from professional competition after committing match-fixing offences. In December 2022, Chen was suspended from the professional tour amid a match-fixing investigation. In January 2023, he was charged with fixing matches on the tour. Ken Doherty
Ken Doherty (born 17 September 1969) is an Irish professional snooker player, commentator and radio presenter. As an amateur, Doherty won the Irish Amateur Championship twice, the World Under-21 Amateur Championship and the World Amateur Championship. Since turning professional in 1990, Doherty has won six ranking tournaments, including the 1997 World Snooker Championship in which he defeated Stephen Hendry, inflicting Hendry's first loss in a world final. Fang Xiongman
Fang Xiongman (,born 9 April 1993) is a former Chinese professional snooker player. Career Fang began competing at professional events in 2012, which included Asian Tour events as well as wildcard rounds of ranking tournaments. His most notable win as an amateur came at the 2015 Shanghai Masters, where he defeated Jamie Jones 5–1 in the wildcard round, but went on to get eliminated 5–2 by Stuart Bingham in the last 32. Daniel Wells (snooker Player)
Daniel Wells (born 31 July 1988) is a Welsh former professional snooker player from Neath. He has twice come through Qualifying School to play on the professional snooker tour. Career Early career He was awarded the inaugural Paul Hunter Scholarship. This gave him the chance to practise in the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield, alongside professional players, such as Peter Ebdon and Ding Junhui.
