The 2015 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship Division I was the two international under-18 women ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Lenka Čurmová
Lenka Čurmová (born 8 April 1997) is a Slovak ice hockey defender and member of the Slovak national team, currently playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Metropolitan Riveters. She and national team teammate Iveta Klimášová were the first Slovak players to play in the PHF. Playing career Čurmová began her career at age twelve, debuting with ŽHK Šarišanka Prešov in the 2009–10 season of the 1.liga žien, Slovakia’s top-tier women’s league. She played with Šarišanka for six seasons, before transferring to HC ŠKP Bratislava of the Elite Women's Hockey League (EWHL). She remained with ŠKP Bratislava until her relocation to North America in 2019 in order to play with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL; renamed PHF in 2021). IIHF World Women's U18 Championship – Division I
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey. The IIHF Hall of Fame was founded in 1997, and has been located within the Hockey Hall of Fame since 1998. Spodek Arena
Spodek (meaning "saucer" in Polish) is a multipurpose arena complex in Katowice, Poland, opened on 9 May 1971. Aside from the main dome, the complex includes a gym, an ice rink, a hotel and three large car parks. It was the largest indoor venue of its kind in Poland until it was surpassed by Tauron Arena in 2014. The Spodek hosts many important cultural and business events. Music concerts are especially common non-sport events. It can hold around 11,500 people, although this number is in practice limited to 10,000 or even 8,000 due to stage set-ups obscuring the view. Its Polish name refers to a flying saucer since its iconic shape resembles a UFO.
