The 2015 Houston Texans season was the franchise's 14th season in the National Football League and the second under head coach Bill O'Brien. Houston started the season going into their bye week at 3–5, including blowout losses to the Atlanta Falcons (21–48) and against the Miami Dolphins (26–44). However, the Texans had a surge in the second half of the season, going 6–2 after the bye. The 2015 season marked the first time the Texans beat the Colts in Indianapolis, helped in part by third–string quarterback Brandon Weeden. The Texans matched their win total from the 2014 season, finishing 9–7, and gained their first division title and postseason trip since 2012, but were shutout, 30–0, at home by the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round. The American Football Conference – Southern Division or AFC South is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. Since its creation, the division has had the same four members: the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans. Despite missing the playoffs for the second season in a row, the Texans greatly improved upon their 2–14 record from 2013, finishing 9–7. As of 2021, this represents the greatest single-season turnaround for the Texans. 2014 Arizona State Sun Devils Football Team
The 2014 Sun Devils football team represented Arizona State University in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Todd Graham and played their home games at Sun Devil Stadium. They were a member of the South Division of the Pac-12 Conference. The Sun Devils finished the season 10–3 (6–3 in Pac-12 play) with a 36–31 victory over Duke in the Sun Bowl. Jaelen Strong
Jaelen Strong (born January 25, 1994) is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at Arizona State. Early years Strong's father, John Rankin, played college basketball at Drexel and died of leukemia in 2003 when Strong was 9. Strong attended West Catholic Preparatory High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he played football and ran track. As a junior, he caught 24 passes for 385 yards with four touchdowns. As a senior, he had 17 receptions for 318 yards and four touchdowns. He had scholarship offers from Eastern Michigan, Villanova and VMI before opting to attend Pierce College. The 2015 season was the Cleveland Browns' 63rd in the National Football League, their 67th overall, and the second and final season under the head coach/general manager tandem of Mike Pettine and Ray Farmer. The 2014 Mississippi State Bulldogs football team represented Mississippi State University in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was coached by Dan Mullen, who was in his sixth season with Mississippi State. The Bulldogs played their home games at the newly expanded and renovated Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi and competed in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Benardrick Cornelius McKinney (born November 19, 1992) is an American football inside linebacker who is a free agent. He played college football at Mississippi State and was selected by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Kevin Johnson (born August 5, 1992) is a former American football cornerback who played six seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wake Forest and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
