2015 Florida Gators Softball Team
The 2015 Florida Gators softball team represented the University of Florida softball program during the 2015 NCAA Division I softball season. The Gators defeated 2015 Michigan Wolverines softball team, Michigan in three games in the final of the 2015 Women's College World Series, clinching back-to-back titles for the program. Tim Walton (softball)
Timothy Ian Walton (born August 6, 1972) is an American college softball coach and a former college and professional baseball player. Walton is currently the head coach of the Florida Gators softball team of the University of Florida. He has a 839-182 (.822) record at Florida. He is a five-time Southeastern Conference Softball Coach of the Year, SEC Coach of the Year and helped the Gators set the SEC single-season record wins at 27 and NCAA single-season record wins at 70 in 2008. Ten years later, he helped them set the NCAA record for the most walks at 360 that season. Aleshia Ocasio
Aleshia Ocasio (born August 15, 1996) is a professional American softball player. She played college softball at Florida. Ocasio most recently played in the Athletes Unlimited Softball, where she won the 2021 championship as the top individual points leader. She has been a member of the Puerto Rico women's national softball team since 2015. Playing career College career On April 16, 2014, Ocasio signed her national letter of intent to play college softball at Florida. During her freshman season in 2015 she posted an 18–3 record, with 155 strikeouts, two saves, ten complete games, four shutouts, and a 2.01 ERA in 136 innings. On March 2, 2015, Ocasio was named SEC Freshman of the Week after she posted a 2–0 record with a save during the week. 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament
The 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 14 through June 3, 2015 as the final part of the 2015 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 293 teams on May 10, 2015. Thirty-two teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and thirty-two teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The tournament culminated with eight teams playing in the 2015 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Automatic bids The Big 12, Big West, Mountain West, Pac-12, and West Coast Conference bids were awarded to the regular season champion. 2015 SEC Softball Tournament
The 2015 SEC softball tournament will be held at Tiger Park on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana from May 6 through May 9, 2015. The tournament will earn the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament. The Championship game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the semifinals will be broadcast on ESPNU, while all other SEC tournament games will be live on the SEC Network. Kelsey Stewart
Kelsey Stewart (born August 15, 1994) is an American softball player. She won two softball National Championships with Florida Gators softball and has been named a Second Team and two-time First Team All- SEC player, including being named 2015 SEC Player of the Year. She was also chosen a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-American in 2014–15. She graduated as a member of the select 300 hits, 200 runs, 100 stolen bases club. She has been of the United States women's national softball team since 2014. She was a member of the national softball team that won the silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. The Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium is the home field of the Florida Gators softball team of the University of Florida. The stadium is located at the corner of Hull Road and Museum Road, on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus. Aubree Munro Watson (born October 4, 1993) is an American, former college softball player, medal-winning Olympian, professional softball catcher. She played college softball for the Florida Gators where she won two NCAA Championships, and played professionally for the USSSA Pride of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF). She is currently a member of the United States women's national softball team, and represented Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal. College career Munro won back-to-back NCAA Championships with the Florida Gators in 2014 and 2015.
