2015 Evian Championship
The 2015 Evian Championship was played 10–13 September at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France. It was the 22nd Evian Championship (the first 19 played as the Evian Masters), and the third as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. The event was televised by Golf Channel and NBC Sports in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. Lydia Ko won her first major championship, becoming the youngest major winner, at age 18, and shooting the lowest final round, 63, to win a major. Field The field for the tournament is set at 120, and most earn exemptions based on past performance on the Ladies European Tour, the LPGA Tour, or with a high ranking in the Women's World Golf Rankings. Évian-les-Bains (), or simply Évian ( frp, Èvian, , or ), is a Communes of France, commune in the northern part of the Haute-Savoie Departments of France, department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regions of France, region, Southeastern France. Woon-jung "Chella" Choi (born 25 August 1990) is a South Korean professional golfer. Choi played on the Duramed Futures Tour in 2008 with a best finish of T-2 at the Bright House Networks Open. She earned her 2009 LPGA Tour card at LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, having to earn her card through a playoff. Brittany Lang (born August 22, 1985) is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. She has won one major championship, the 2016 U.S. Women's Open. Amateur career Born in Richmond, Virginia and raised in McKinney, Texas, Lang had a decorated amateur career. She won eight American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events and was a two-time First-Team Polo Golf Junior All-American, in 2001 and 2002. Jessica Regina Korda ( cs, Jessica Kordová) (born February 27, 1993) is an Czech-American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Korda was a member of the 2009 U.S. Junior Solheim Cup and the 2010 U.S. Curtis Cup teams. Ko Jin-young (;, born 7 July 1995), also known as Jin Young Ko, is a South Korean professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour.
