2015 Cork Senior Football Championship
The 2014 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 127th staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 14 December 2014. The championship began on 6 April 2015 and ended on 25 October 2015. Ballincollig were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Castlehaven at the quarter-final stage. On 25 October 2015, Nemo Rangers won the championship following a 1-10 to 0-11 defeat of Castlehaven in a final replay at Páirc Uí Rinn. It was their 19th championship title overall and their first title since 2010. ''The Echo'', formerly known as the ''Evening Echo'', is an Irish morning newspaper based in Cork. It is distributed throughout the province of Munster, although it is primarily read in its base city of Cork. The newspaper was founded as a broadsheet in 1892, and has been published in tabloid format since 1991. Valley Rovers GAA
Valley Rovers GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Innishannon in County Cork, Ireland. The club was formed in 1919 when two teams in the parish, Innishannon and Knockavilla, came together. The club fields teams in hurling, camogie, Gaelic football and Ladies' football. It participates in the Carrigdhoun division of Cork GAA. As of 2020, the club were playing at Premier senior level in football and Premier intermediate level in hurling. The club won the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship title twice, first in 1989 and two decades later in the 2009 Cork PremierIntermediate Hurling Championship. Banteer
Banteer () is a village in north County Cork, Ireland located in the Civic Parish of Clonmeen in the Barony of Duhallow. It is near the town of Mallow. Banteer is within the Cork North-West Dáil constituency. This barony is situated in the northwest region of the county, and includes towns such as Kanturk, Millstreet, and Newmarket. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. Macroom
Macroom (; ga, Maigh Chromtha) is a market town in County Cork, Ireland, located in the valley of the River Sullane, halfway between Cork city and Killarney. Its population has grown and receded over the centuries as it went through periods of war, famine and workhouses, forced emigration and intermittent prosperity. UCC GAA
UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. Ballincollig () is a suburban town within the administrative area of Cork city in Ireland. It is located on the western side of Cork city, beside the River Lee on the R608 regional road. In 2016 it was the largest town in County Cork, at which time the Ballincollig Electoral Division had a population of 18,621 people. Muskerry GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling division located in the middle region of County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork GAA County Board. The division includes clubs from areas to the west of Cork city stretching to the county bounds with Kerry. Its name is derived from the ancient Gaelic kingdom of Múscraige which, following the Norman conquest, now encompasses the baronies of Muskerry West and Muskerry East. Munster Technological University Cork GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Munster Technological University in Bishopstown, Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in a range of competitions in both hurling and Gaelic football. History Gaelic games were first played at the then Cork Regional Technical College when a student Gaelic football team was established in 1975. A student hurling team was set up the following year. The staff of the RTC Cork also had an active GAA club, and competed in various inter-firm hurling and football competitions. In 1995, Cork RTC made their debuts in the Fitzgibbon Cup and Sigerson Cup. Teams were also fielded that year in the Cork SHC and Cork SFC for the first time.
