2015 Campeonato Cearense
The 2015 Campeonato Cearense de Futebol was the 101st season of top professional football league in the state of Ceará, Brazil. The competition began on January 14 and ended on May 3. Fortaleza won the championship for the 40th time, while Horizonte and São Benedito were relegated. Format The ten teams are split in two groups, who play a double round robin against teams in the same group. The three best in each group advance to the second stage, while the two worst from each group are put in the loser's group. In the loser's group, the four teams play against each other in a double round-robin, and the two worst are relegated. In the second stage, the six teams are split in two groups, who play against the other teams in the same group twice. The two best in each group advance to the final stage. The Campeonato Cearense is the football league of the state of Ceará, Brazil. Format The Campeonato Cearense has three divisions with the following division and format (as in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year): First Division The ten clubs play two legs. In each leg there are three stages: *First stage: All teams play each other one time. *Second stage: Two-legged knockout with the top 4 teams of the first stage (1st x 4th and 2nd x 3rd). *Third stage: Two-legged knockout with the second stage winners. The winners of the third stage are leg champions. The two leg champions decide the state championship final in two games. If a team wins the two legs is a state champion with no championship final necessary. The two teams last placed in all championship are relegated. Guarany Sporting Club, commonly known as Guarany de Sobral or just as Guarany, is a Brazilian football club from Sobral, Ceará state. They competed once in the Série B and in the Série C, and won the Série D once. History Guarany Sporting Club was founded on July 2, 1938, at Luiz Nogueira Adeodato's home, located in Sobral, Ceará state. The first members of the club's board of directors were Father José Aloísio Pinto and Luiz Nogueira Adeodato. Guarany won their first title, which was the Campeonato Cearense Second Level, in 1966, winning the competition again in the following year and in 1999. They competed in the Série C in 2001, finishing in the third place, and then being promoted to the Série B in 2002, replacing Malutrom in the competition. Estádio Governador Plácido Castelo, also known as the Castelão (, Portuguese for "Big Castle") or Gigante da Boa Vista, is a football stadium that was inaugurated on November 11, 1973 in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, with a maximum capacity of 63,903 spectators. Quixadá
Quixadá is a municipality in the state of Ceará, in Brazil. It is known for its unusual rock formations, known locally as monoliths. Location Quixadá is located at around .
