2015 Boston Pizza Cup
The 2015 Boston Pizza Cup was held from February 4 to 8 at the Peace Memorial Multiplex in Wainwright, Alberta. The winning Kevin Koe team represented Alberta at the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary. Qualification process Twelve teams qualified for the provincial tournament through several methods. The qualification process is as follows: ;Notes # The defending champion usually receives the first berth, and in the case that the defending champion declines or is not eligible to receive the berth, the runner-up receives the berth. The defending champion from 2014, Kevin Koe, won the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier and, under the revised format implemented for the 2015 Brier, would have been eligible for automatic entry with his 2014 team in the 2015 Brier as Team Canada, which would have negated any need for him to compete in the Boston Pizza Cup. Wainwright, Alberta
Wainwright is a town in east-central Alberta, Canada. It is approximately southeast of Edmonton. Located west of the Alberta–Saskatchewan border, Wainwright is south of Vermilion in the Battle River valley. Highway 41, called the Buffalo Trail, and Highway 14 go through the town. CFB Wainwright is located in Denwood, southwest of Wainwright. History Originally named Denwood by settler James Dawson in 1905, the town was relocated by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway west-northwest and renamed Wainwright after General William Wainwright, the second vice-president of railway. Mick Lizmore
Michael "Mick" (Micky) Lizmore (born November 7, 1987 in London, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. Career Juniors Lizmore, who is originally from London, Ontario won the 2007 Pepsi Ontario Junior Curling Championships playing vice for the Ryan Myler rink. Representing Ontario at the 2007 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, the team went 8-4, missing the playoffs. Men's career: Ontario After juniors, Lizmore joined the Mark Kean rink for one season before joining the Jake Higgs team in 2008 as lead. The team made it to the 2009 TSC Stores Tankard, the provincial men's championship for Ontario, where they finished in 4th place. Sean Paul Morris (born September 10, 1983, in Marshfield, Massachusetts) is a professional lacrosse player with the Boston Cannons of the Major League Lacrosse, and the Boston Blazers in the National Lacrosse League. He founded Laxachusetts, Legacy Lacrosse, BostonLax.net and has recently launched TheLocker.com. Amateur career Morris played collegiate lacrosse at University of Massachusetts. Morris initially enrolled at Rutgers University, but transferred and played his four years of eligibility at UMass. Morris lead the Minuteman to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship game in 2006. The 2014 Tim Hortons Brier was held from March 1 to 9 at the Interior Savings Centre in Kamloops, British Columbia. Unlike previous years, the winner of the 2014 Brier automatically qualified for the 2015 Brier as Team Canada, similarly to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Matthew Blandford (born April 16, 1985) is a Canadian curler currently residing in Cold Lake, Alberta. He is originally from Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, and is a three-time Newfoundland and Labrador junior champion. Career Blandford started his curling career as a junior curler in Newfoundland and Labrador. Jamie King (born November 21, 1973 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian curler. King was the alternate for the Kevin Koe rink in 2010, where he won 2010 Tim Hortons Brier and 2010 Capital One World Men's Curling Championship. King played in just two games at the World Championships, against Denmark and Japan. For much of that season, King skipped his own Edmonton-based rink.
