2015 Allan Cup
The 2015 Allan Cup was the Canadian championship of senior ice hockey and the 107th year the Allan Cup was awarded. The tournament was contended in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador from April 13 to April 18, 2015 and hosted by the Clarenville Caribous. All games were played at the Eastlink Events Centre. The championship game between the Bentley Generals and South East Prairie Thunder was a rematch of the 2009 final. The Prairie Thunder defeated the Generals by a score of 2–0 to win their second national title. Information This year's Allan Cup was the first played in Newfoundland and Labrador since 1985. It was the third consecutive trip to the Allan Cup for the host Clarenville Caribous, who lost the previous two championship games. The Atlantic region was awarded Quebec's berth for this year's Allan Cup, in addition to its regular spot. Kenora Thistles (senior)
The Kenora Thistles were a Canadian senior ice hockey club from Kenora, Ontario. The club most recently played in the 2015–16 season in the Hockey Northwestern Ontario and were hosts of the 2011 Allan Cup. History Founded in 2006, the Kenora Thistles were one of only two teams in their area, the other being the Thunder Bay Twins. Both the Thistles and Twins played a series of exhibition games against Manitoba and Saskatchewan senior clubs to stay ready during the winter as they have no official league play until the playoffs. In the spring, the Thistles and Thunder Bay traditionally met in a best-of-3 series to determine the Ontario Hockey Association champion for the Renwick Cup. Powell River Regals
The Powell River Regals were a Canadian Senior ice hockey team from Powell River, British Columbia. The Regals played an independent schedule under the supervision of the BC Amateur Hockey Association. The Regals were three-time Allan Cup National Senior "AAA" Champions and one-time Hardy Cup National Intermediate "A" Champions. The Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs also known as the Fort Hotel Chiefs, were a Senior ice hockey, senior AAA-level ice hockey team based in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. They competed within the Allan Cup Hockey West league (formerly Chinook Hockey League) from the 2003-04 season to the 2018–19 season. The Allan Cup Hockey West (ACHW) (formerly the Chinook League) is a multi-tier Canadian Senior ice hockey league based in Alberta, on hiatus as of 2021. The ACHW is one of two Allan Cup-eligible ice hockey leagues currently operating in Canada; the other is Ontario's Allan Cup Hockey.
