2014–15 Serie A
The 2014–15 Serie A (known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons) was the 113th season of top-tier Italian football, the 83rd in a round-robin tournament, and the fifth since its organization under a league committee separate from Serie B. It began on 30 August 2014. A total of 20 teams compete in the league: 17 sides from the 2013–14 season and three promoted from the 2013–14 Serie B campaign. Juventus were the defending champions, successfully defending their title for the fourth consecutive time. On 2 May 2015, Juventus won the scudetto for the fourth consecutive time. Events The season will feature the return of Palermo after only one season in the second division and Empoli, whose last appearance was in the 2007–08 season. Daniele Orsato
Daniele Orsato (born 23 November 1975) is an Italian football referee. Over his career, which spans three decades, Orsato has refereed a UEFA Champions League final and has received accolades from the International Federation of Football History & Statistics, but he has also been the subject of much controversy. A mistake he made in a 2018 match between Inter Milan and Juventus handed the Serie A title to Juventus over rivals S.S.C. Napoli. Orsato himself acknowledged the mistake years later. Stadio Olimpico
The Stadio Olimpico (English: ''Olympic Stadium'') is the largest sports facility in Rome, Italy, seating over 70,000 spectators. It is located within the Foro Italico sports complex, north of the city. The structure is owned by the Italian National Olympic Committee and it is used primarily for association football. The Stadio Olimpico is the home stadium of the Roma and Lazio football clubs, and also hosts the Coppa Italia final. It was rebuilt for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and it hosted the tournament final. Ștefan Daniel Radu (; born 22 October 1986) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a left-back or a centre-back for Serie A club Lazio. After a stint in his home country with Dinamo BucureÈ™ti during which he earned three domestic honours, including one national title, Radu moved to Lazio in 2008 on an initial loan. Alessandro Matri (; born 19 August 1984) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career Early career Born in Sant'Angelo Lodigiano, Lombardy, a ''comune'' 30 km away from the city of Milan, Matri started his career at Milan. Giorgio Chiellini (; born 14 August 1984) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC.
