2014–15 Stoke City F.C. Season
The 2014–15 season is Stoke City's seventh season in the Premier League and the 59th in the top tier of English football. In preparation for the 2014–15 season Mark Hughes signed Phil Bardsley, Mame Biram Diouf, Bojan Krkić, Steve Sidwell, Dionatan Teixeira whilst Victor Moses and Oussama Assaidi joined on season-long loans. Departing the Britannia Stadium were Matthew Etherington, Cameron Jerome, Michael Kightly and Ryan Shotton. Stoke had a mixed start to the season as they lost 1–0 at home to Aston Villa, drew 1–1 with Hull City and then beat the reigning league champions Manchester City 1–0. This set the tone for an inconsistent Autumn as Stoke managed just three wins in September, October and November and lost at home to newly promoted sides Burnley and Leicester City. Dionatan Teixeira
Dionatan do Nascimento Teixeira (24 July 1992 – 5 November 2017) was a Brazilian-born Slovakian professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Teixeira began playing football with local side Londrina EC in Brazil before he was given the opportunity to play in Europe with Slovakian side MFK Košice in 2008. He played in the youth teams at Košice and went on trials with a number of clubs in England. A failure to gain a work permit ended any chances of him joining an English club, and after playing on loan for Slovan Bratislava in 2011–12 he was released by Košice. After briefly playing amateur football he moved on to Baník Ružiná and then to Slovak Super Liga side Dukla Banská Bystrica. In 2013 Teixeira was granted Slovak citizenship and after impressing Stoke City whilst on trial he joined them on a three-year contract in June 2014. Ryan Shotton
Ryan Colin Shotton (born 30 October 1988) is an English professional footballer and manager who plays as a defender. He is currently player/manager of Midland League club Hanley Town. Shotton progressed through the Stoke City Academy and signed a professional contract in 2007. He went on loan to Altrincham, Tranmere Rovers and Barnsley respectively to gain first team experience. He broke into the Stoke squad towards the end of the 2010–11 season. He played in the UEFA Europa League in 2011–12 scoring against Maccabi Tel Aviv. In September 2013 Shotton joined Wigan Athletic on loan. He then joined Derby County on loan in August 2014 before completing a permanent move in January 2015. Michael Kightly
Michael John Kightly (born 24 January 1986) is an English former professional footballer who played as a winger. Kightly was rejected as a schoolboy by Tottenham Hotspur but worked his way back to League football with Southend United. He again slipped into the non-League though, before being spotted by Wolverhampton Wanderers while starring for Grays Athletic. He soon became a vital player for Wolves and was pivotal in their promotion to the Premier League in 2009. However injuries disrupted his time in the top flight before the club's relegation after three seasons. He joined Stoke City in August 2012 for an undisclosed fee. Cameron Jerome
Cameron Zishan Rana-Jerome (born 14 August 1986), known as Cameron Jerome, is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Luton Town. Jerome began his career as a trainee with Huddersfield Town, Grimsby Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough before signing a professional contract with Cardiff City in the summer of 2004. He quickly became a regular at Ninian Park and after scoring 20 goals in the 2005–06 season he was signed by Birmingham City for a fee of £3 million. He spent five years at St Andrew's where he experienced two promotions and two relegations and also helped the side win the 2011 Football League Cup.
