2014 İstanbul Cup
The 2014 İstanbul Cup (also known as the TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 7th edition of the İstanbul Cup, and was part of the WTA International tournaments of the 2014 WTA Tour. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, from 14 July through 20 July 2014. This was the first edition of the tournament since 2010. The event was not held in 2011–2013 because the WTA Tour Championships were held in İstanbul during those years. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Çağla Büyükakçay
Çağla Büyükakçay (; born 28 September 1989) is a Turkish professional tennis player. She has won 11 singles and 15 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. In September 2016, she reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 60. She won her first title on the WTA Tour at her home tournament in Istanbul. On 29 February 2016, she peaked at world No. 111 in the WTA doubles rankings. Playing for Turkey at the Billie Jean King Cup, Büyükakçay has a win–loss record of 39–30. She is also the top-ranked tennis player at Istanbul's multi-sports club Enkaspor. Büyükakçay was the first tennis player to represent Turkey at the Olympic Games. Monica Niculescu (born 25 September 1987) is a Romanian professional tennis player. She has been ranked by the Women's Tennis Association as high as 28 in singles and 11 in doubles.
