2014 WAFF Championship
The 2013 West Asian Football Federation Championship (marketed as Qatar 2013) was the 8th WAFF Championship, an international tournament for member nations of the West Asian Football Federation. The tournament was hosted by Qatar from 25 December 2013 to 7 January 2014 and the host country won the tournament for the first time. The 2012 champions, Syria, did not defend their title. Venues It was announced in October 2013 that three venues would be used. On 4 December, it was announced that the Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium would not feature in the tournament anymore. 2014 AFC President's Cup
The 2014 AFC President's Cup was the tenth and the last edition of the AFC President's Cup, a football competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for clubs from "emerging countries" in Asia. Balkan were the defending champions, but failed to qualify for the tournament. On 25 November 2013, the AFC Competitions Committee proposed that the 2014 AFC President's Cup to be the last edition of the competition. Starting from 2015, league champions of "emerging countries" are eligible to participate in the AFC Cup qualifying play-off. In the final, HTTU Aşgabat of Turkmenistan defeated Rimyongsu of North Korea 2–1, and became the second consecutive team from Turkmenistan to win the AFC President's Cup. The 2014 AFC Cup was the 11th edition of the AFC Cup, a association football, football competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for clubs from "developing countries" in Asia. Kuwait SC, Al-Kuwait were the two-time defending champions, but were eliminated by Persipura Jayapura in the quarter-finals. In the 2014 AFC Cup Final, final, Qadsia SC, Al-Qadsia of Kuwait defeated Erbil SC, Erbil of Iraq 4–2 on penalties after a 0–0 draw, to win their first AFC Cup title after losing in the previous year's final. 2014 AFC Champions League
The 2014 AFC Champions League was the 33rd edition of the top-level Asian club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 12th under the current AFC Champions League title. Guangzhou Evergrande were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Western Sydney Wanderers in the quarter-finals. In the final, Western Sydney Wanderers of Australia defeated Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia 1–0 on aggregate, to become the first Australian team to win the title, and in doing so qualified for the 2014 FIFA Club World Cup. The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, both Territories of the United States, territories of the United States, are also AFC members that are geographically in Oceania. FIFA International Match Calendar
The FIFA International Match Calendar (sometimes abbreviated as the FIFA Calendar or FIFA Days) is an outline agreement between FIFA, the six continental football confederations, the European Club Association, and FIFPro, which sets out which dates can be used for "official" and " friendly" men's international matches. The current dates are within five windows: in March, May or June, August or September, October, and November. The match calendar also determines when international competitions such as the AFC Asian Cup, Africa Cup of Nations, Copa América, CONCACAF Gold Cup, OFC Nations Cup, UEFA European Championship, and FIFA World Cup can take place.
