2014 W-League (Australia)
The 2014 W-League season was the seventh season of the W-League, the Australian national women's association football competition. The regular season started on 13 September 2014 and concluded on 7 December 2014. The Grand Final took place on 21 December 2014. Due to Australia hosting the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, the season was scheduled to take place entirely in the 2014 calendar year instead of continuing in to 2015. Shannon May (born 9 June 1991) is an Australian association football, soccer player who plays for Australian W-League (Australia), W-League team Perth Glory FC (W-League), Perth Glory. May was part of the Glory's inaugural W-League squad, scoring the team's first goal in their second match of the 2008–09 W-League season against Central Coast Mariners. In December 2009, she was awarded the team's Most Glorious Player award - an award presented to the team's best player each season. May became the first Perth Glory player to reach the 100-game mark in the W-League in 2018. May also plays for local side Beckenham Angels SC in the Bank West Women's state League. Catherine Brown (born 10 January 1994) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played with the Hawthorn Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition. Brown is also a former soccer player, who last played for Canberra United in the Australian W-League. Soccer career Brown played 32 times for Canberra United in the W-League between 2012 and 2015. Her career at W-League ended after she sustained a long-term knee injury while training to play Australian rules football. She attempted to return with a four-week trial for Canberra United before the 2017–18 W-League season but was not offered a contract. Ellie Katherine Brush (born 19 August 1988) is an Australian sportswoman who plays Association football, soccer for Canberra United FC , Canberra United in the Australian A-League Women. She has also played Australian rules football for Greater Western Sydney Giants#AFL Women's team, Greater Western Sydney in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Jamie Richard Harnwell (born 21 July 1977 in Perth, Western Australia) is a retired Australian football (soccer) player and current coach of Perth NPL club Sorrento FC and the Western Australian state soccer team. He holds the record for most appearances for Perth Glory, with 256 league appearances to his name.
