2014 S.League
The 2014 S.League was the 19th season since the establishment of the S.League, the top-flight Singaporean professional league for association football clubs. The league was also known as the Great Eastern Yeo's S.League due to sponsorship reasons. Tampines Rovers were the defending champions. For the first time, free-to-air MediaCorp okto broadcast all Friday matches that were held at the Jalan Besar Stadium live on its channel, including a weekly S.League Show. The season started on 21 February 2014, and concluded on 31 October 2014. Teams A total of 12 teams contested the league. There were no changes to the participating sides from the previous season. Toa Payoh Stadium
Toa Payoh Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Toa Payoh, Singapore. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Balestier Khalsa FC. The stadium holds 3,896 people. It was taken over by the then Singapore Sports Council on 30 November 1973, and opened to the public on 1 March 1974. Facility The stadium has a total seating capacity of 3,964 people. Jurong East Stadium
Jurong East Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Jurong East, Singapore. It is opened from 7am to 7.30pm. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Albirex Niigata Singapore FC and Tanjong Pagar United. The stadium holds 2,700 people and opened in 1998. It is one of only three stadiums in Singapore that does not have a running track, and was built to serve only as a football stadium. Location The stadium is located in Jurong East, but it is closer to Chinese Garden MRT station. Tanjong Pagar United Football Club is a professional football club that competes in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club took part in S.League from 1996 to 2004, and from 2011 to 2014. The club withdrew from the league after the 2004 season because of financial problems, but returned in 2011, with several similar breaks meanwhile. The club also has its women's section. The club has since returned from 2020 onwards. Geylang International Football Club is a professional football club based in Bedok, Singapore, which plays in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. Albirex Niigata Singapore FC, abbreviated as Albirex Niigata (S), is a Singaporean football club that plays in the Singapore Premier League. The club is a satellite team of Albirex Niigata of Japan.
