2014 Men's Hockey World Cup
The 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup was the 13th edition of the Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams organized by the FIH. It was held from 31 May to 15 June 2014 at the Kyocera Stadion in The Hague, Netherlands. simultaneously with the women's tournament. It was the third time that the Netherlands hosted the World Cup after 1973 and 1998. Defending champions Australia won the tournament for the third time after defeating the Netherlands 6–1 in the final. Argentina won the third place match by defeating England 2–0 to claim their first ever World Cup medal. Bidding The host was announced on 11 November 2010 during the FIH Congress and Forum in Montreux, Switzerland after FIH received bids from The Hague and London. Tyler John Lovell (born 23 May 1987) is an Australian field hockey player who plays as a goalkeeper for the Australian national team. At the club level, he plays for YMCC in Melville Toyota League in Perth, Western Australia and Ranchi Rays in the Hockey India League. He made his debut for the national team at the 2013 Oceania Cup where they won the gold medal. Cédric Charlier
Cédric Daniel André Charlier (born 27 November 1987) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Racing Club de Bruxelles and the Belgian national team. Club career Charlier started playing hockey at Uccle and played there until he was 19 years old, when he went to Racing Bruxelles. In July 2019, he made a transfer to Dragons. After he won the Belgian national title with Dragons in the 2020–21 season he returned to Racing. In his first season back at Racing he won the league title again. International career At the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men's tournament. At the 2016 Olympics, he was part of the Belgian men's team that won the silver medal. Sébastien Dockier
Sébastien Dockier (born 28 December 1989) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Pinoké. Dockier comes from a real hockey family; not only his father and sister but even aunts and cousins have been playing field hockey. Club career During his youth, he played for Royal Beerschot THC, where he played in the first team until 2014, when he left to play for Dutch club HC Den Bosch. After three seasons with Den Bosch, he went back to his former club. He played there for one season before returning to the Netherlands to play for Den Bosch again. In June 2020, he left Den Bosch and joined Pinoké for the 2020–21 season. In his third season at Pinoké, he won the national title which was the first league title for Pinoké. John-John Dohmen
John-John Dominique Dohmen (born 24 January 1988) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays for Orée and the Belgium national team as a midfielder. Biography John-John Dohmen was born in Anderlecht in 1988, and spent his youth in Ittre. He has graduated in ergotherapy. In 2014, he was a candidate for the Centre démocrate humaniste in the Belgian regional elections in Walloon Brabant. Dohmen started playing hockey when he was five years old, and debuted at Royal Léopold Club in Uccle. He was a player for the Waterloo Ducks until 2020, and since 2013, the captain of the Belgian national team (the "Red Lions"). Arthur Georges Stanislas Henri Van Doren (born 1 October 1994) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a defender for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Bloemendaal and the Belgium national team. He is the brother of fellow Belgian international Loic Van Doren. In 2017, he won simultaneously both FIH awards of FIH Player and FIH Rising Star of the Year. Xavier Reckinger
Xavier Reckinger (born 20 December 1983) is a Belgian international field hockey player and coach of the Germany women's national field hockey team. He played for Braxgata in Boom and is a defender. Before he played with the KHC Dragons. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, with the national team, he finished fifth in the men's tournament. Reckinger became European vice-champion with Belgium at the 2013 European Championship on home ground in Boom. In January 2015 Xavier Reckinger was added to the coaching staff of the Red panthers. Marc Lammers
Marc Lammers (born 15 March 1969 in Oss, North Brabant) is a Dutch former field hockey player and head coach. In the past, he led the Spanish women's national team from 1999 to 2000 and the Dutch women's national team from 2000 to 2008. Under his guidance, the Dutch team won the silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Later he also coached the Belgian men's national team until 2014, with whom he became European vice-champion. As a player, he earned five caps for the men's team. Jeremy Thomas Hayward (born 3 March 1993) is an Australian field hockey player. Hayward was part of the Australian team who won the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup. The team defeated the Netherlands 6–1 in the final. Hayward was also awarded Young Player of the Tournament at this event. Hayward was selected in the Kookaburras Olympics squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
