The Karnataka State Film Awards 2014, presented by Government of Karnataka, to felicitate the best of Kannada Cinema released in the year 2014. Lifetime achievement award Jury A committee headed by K. Shivarudraiah was appointed to evaluate the awards. He said that the committee watched 73 films watched in 45 days before shortlisting 12 for a "re-watch in the second round". Mysore (), officially Mysuru (), is a city in the southern part of the state of Karnataka, India. ''Baanaadi'' ( kn, ಬಾನಾಡಿ) is a 2014 Indian Kannada language children's film written and directed by debutant Nagaraj Kote, based on the novel ''Usiru'' he wrote. It stars Praful Vishwakarma, H. G. Dattatreya and Rajesh Nataranga in the lead roles. The supporting cast features Dhruthi, Abhinaya, Sringeri Ramanna, Jayashree Raj, Venkatachala, T. S. Nagabharana, Mimicry Gopi and Yashwanth Kote. Sanchari Vijay
Vijay Kumar Basavarajaiah (17 July 1983 – 15 June 2021), known by his stage name Sanchari Vijay, was an Indian actor known for his work in Kannada cinema. He began his career as a stage actor. He trained on stage from Sanchari Theatre, a culture centre with its own drama troupe, based in Bangalore. For his portrayal of a transgender person in the Kannada film ''Naanu Avanalla...Avalu'' (2014), Vijay was awarded the National Film Award for Best Actor at the 62nd National Film Awards. He also received the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor – South for the performance. Naanu Avanalla
''Upendra'' is a 1999 Indian Kannada-language psychological thriller film written and directed by Upendra. It starred Upendra, Raveena Tandon, Prema and Damini. The film explores three human emotions through the relationship between the main character and the three heroines. The songs of the film were written by Upendra and music was composed by Gurukiran. The movie has a cult fanbase. It is said that the director named it as Upendra with the thought that the name includes the names of the main characters of the film (U-Upendra, P-Prema, D-Damini & Ra-Raveena). Rakshit Shetty (born 6 June 1983) is an Indian actor, film producer, writer and filmmaker of Kannada cinema. He is the recipient of two Filmfare Awards South. Early life Shetty was born in Udupi on 6 June 1983 in a Tulu-speaking Bunt family. He completed his schooling at his hometown. ''Gajakesari'' is a 2014 Indian Kannada-language historical action film directed by cinematographer Krishna and produced by Jayanna and Bogendra.
