2014 Karjala Tournament
The 2014 Karjala Tournament was played between 6–9 November 2014. The Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden and Russia played a round-robin for a total of three games per team and six games in total. Five of the matches were played in the Hartwall Areena in Helsinki, Finland, and one match in the Tegera Arena in Leksand, Sweden. The tournament was won by Sweden before Finland, making it the first time Sweden won the tournament since 1997. The tournament was part of 2014–15 Euro Hockey Tour. Linus Klasen
Robert Linus Alexander Klasen (born 19 February 1986) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for EHC Visp of the Swiss League (SL). Playing career Klasen started his career with Huddinge IK and has played with Södertälje SK in the Swedish Elitserien. He played 3 games with team Sweden in the 2007–08 season. On 30 October 2010 Klassen made his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators in an away game against the Detroit Red Wings. Klasen signed a three-year contract with the Malmö Redhawks of the HockeyAllsvenskan on 17 May 2011. He was immediately appointed the team's captain. The contract included an annual salary of 4 million SEK ($0.6 million USD), making him the best paid ice hockey player in Sweden. Hartwall Arena
Helsinki Halli (formerly Hartwall Arena) is a large multi-functional indoor arena located in Helsinki, Finland. It was opened in April 1997. The arena is convertible for various events. The total seated capacity during ice hockey games is 13,349 (about 14,000 for basketball, for concerts up to 15,000) and as an amphitheatre, it is significantly reduced to between 3,000 to 5,000. The Russian-owned arena has been unused since March 2022 due to EU sanctions related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The main sponsor, Hartwall, also ended its sponsorship and the arena's name was changed. Construction and facilities The initiative for building the arena came from Harry "Hjallis" Harkimo in 1994. Tomáš Kubalík (born May 1, 1990) is a Czech professional ice hockey forward who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He is the older brother to Dominik Kubalik who also plays professionally. Playing career As a youth, Kubalik played in the 2003 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a team from Chomutov. Radek Smoleňák (born December 3, 1986) is a Czech professional ice hockey winger. Ilari Antti Sakari Filppula (born 5 November 1981) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the TPS in the Finnish Liiga. He is the older brother of Valtteri Filppula. Olli Palola (born 8 April 1988) is a Finnish professional ice hockey forward who currently plays professionally for Rögle BK of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Palola saw his first action in the Finnish top-flight Liiga during the 2006–07 season, playing six contests for Ilves.
