2014 Hungaroring GP2 And GP3 Series Rounds
The 2014 Hungary GP2 Series round was a pair of motor races held on July 26 and 27, 2014 at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, Pest, Hungary as part of the GP2 Series. It is the sixth round of the 2014 season. The race weekend supported the 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix. Report Qualifying Going into the qualifying session, Felipe Nasr was placed in second place in the overall championship. His target was of course to beat his championship rival Jolyon Palmer, but also to get that pole position and four crucial points that could make or break a championship title. Hungaroring
The Hungaroring is a motorsport racetrack in Mogyoród, Pest County, Hungary where the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix is held. In 1986, it became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain. Bernie Ecclestone wanted a race in the USSR, but a Hungarian friend recommended Budapest. They wanted a street circuit similar to the Circuit de Monaco to be built in the Népliget – Budapest's largest park – but the government decided to build a new circuit just outside the city near a major highway. Construction works started on 1 October 1985. It was built in eight months, less time than any other Formula One circuit. The first race was held on 24 March 1986, in memory of János Drapál, the first Hungarian who won motorcycle Grand Prix races. GP2 Series
The GP2 Series was a form of open wheel motor racing introduced in 2005 following the discontinuation of the long-term Formula One feeder series, Formula 3000. The GP2 format was conceived by Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore, while Ecclestone also has the rights to the name GP1. The series was organized by Bruno Michel. In 2010, the GP3 Series class was launched, as a feeder class for the GP2 series. In 2017, the series was rebranded as the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Designed to make racing affordable for the teams and to make it a better training ground for life in Formula One, GP2 made it mandatory for all of the teams to use the same chassis, engine and tyre supplier so that true driver ability is reflected. Ómar Julián Leal Covelli, commonly known as Julián Leal, (born May 11, 1990 in Bucaramanga) is a professional racing driver from Colombia. Stéphane Richelmi (born 17 March 1990 in Monte Carlo) is a professional racing driver from Monaco. He is the son of former World Rally Championship driver Jean-Pierre Richelmi. Career Formula Renault 1.6 & 2.0 Richelmi began his Formula racing career in the Belgian Formula Renault 1.6 category in 2006, ending the year in 12th place. The following year, he stepped up to the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 series, racing for Boutsen Energy Racing. Marco L. Sørensen (born 6 September 1990) is a Danish racing driver currently racing for Aston Martin Racing as a factory driver in the FIA World Endurance Championship. He was part of the Renault Driver Development. He has competed in such series as Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, ADAC Formel Masters and the British Formula Ford Championship. Raffaele "Lello" Marciello (; born 17 December 1994) is a Swiss-born Italian professional racing driver. is a Japanese racing driver. He currently competes in Super GT. Career After competing in karting in Asia, Sato spent two seasons in Formula BMW UK, ending fourth in 2007. Caterham Racing (GP2 Team)
Caterham Racing, formerly EQ8 Caterham Racing and Caterham Team AirAsia was a motor racing team competing in the GP2 Series and GP2 Asia Series.
