2014 European Women's Handball Championship Qualification
This article describes the qualification for the 2014 European Women's Handball Championship. Qualification system Draw and format The draw was held at the Veszprém Aréna in Veszprém, Hungary on 26 May 2013 at 17:00 local time. Hungary and Croatia as host nations were directly qualified. 26 teams had registered for participation and compete for 14 places at the final tournament in the qualification. The teams were divided into several pots according to their positions in the EHF National Team Ranking. The two top ranked teams advanced to the final tournament. 2014 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2014 European Women's Handball Championship was the eleventh continental tournament for women's national teams, organized by the European Handball Federation. The second jointly hosted edition in the competition's history took place in Hungary and Croatia from 7 to 21 December 2014. Norway won their sixth title after beating Spain 28–25 in the final. Sweden defeated Montenegro 25–23 to capture the bronze medal. Norway's victory ensured their qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics. However, they later won the 2015 World Women's Handball Championship, vacating the European champion Olympic berth which fell to Spain as the runner-up. The two next-best placed teams, Sweden and Montenegro, earned spots in the Olympic Qualification Tournaments. Camilla Dalby (born 15 May 1988) is a former Danish team handball player who plays for the club Randers HK and for the Danish women's national handball team. At the 2010 European Women's Handball Championship she reached the bronze final and placed fourth with the Danish team. On 10 May, she won her first Champions League trophy with ŽRK Budućnost. Krems an der Donau () is a town of 23,992 inhabitants in Austria, in the federal state of Lower Austria. It is the fifth-largest city of Lower Austria and is approximately west of Vienna.
