2014 Eurocup Clio Season
The 2014 Eurocup Clio season was the fourth season of the Renault–supported touring car category, a one-make racing series that formed part of the World Series by Renault. For the 2014 season, the series used the Renault Clio RS 197 as its car of choice. For the second time in three years, the championship was won by Spanish driver Oscar Nogués for the Italian Rangoni Corse team. Nogués won five out of the season's eight races, and also recorded two pole positions and five fastest laps during the campaign. He won the championship by 40 points ahead of compatriot Mikel Azcona, who won races at Le Castellet and Jerez for PCR Sport. Éric Trémoulet finished third in the championship, taking six podium finishes during the season for the Vic'Team. The season's only other winner was Composit Motorsport's Massimiliano Pedalà, who won at the Nürburgring. Renault Sport () or Renaultsport, was the motorsport, performance and special vehicles division for Renault-badged cars. Renault Sport was officially established in 1976 as a merger between the Alpine and Gordini competition departments. It was reorganised in 2002 and 2016. In December 2021, all Renault Sport operations were merged into an Alpine-led business unit. Kenneth Ma (racing Driver)
"Kenneth" Ma Hon Wah (born 24 March 1960) is a Hong Kong racing driver currently competing in the TCR Asia Series. Having previously competed in the Clio Cup China Series and Asian Formula Renault Series among others. Racing career Ma began his career in 2000 in the Formula 2000 Asia, finishing the season 7th in the standings. He was switched to the Asian Formula Renault Series in 2004, racing in the series for many years before switching to the Asian GT Championship in 2008. In 2009, he was switched to the Clio Cup China Series, finishing 2nd in the standings in 2014. In 2012, he raced in the Malaysia Super Series. He raced in the Renault Clio Cup Bohemia and Renault Clio Eurocup in 2013 and 2014, respectively. In 2014 he also raced in the CTM Macau Cup. Mikel Azcona Troyas (born 25 June 1996) is a Spanish auto racing driver who competes in the World Touring Car Cup for PWR Racing. He won the TCR Europe Touring Car Series championship in 2018 and 2021 and the WTCR championship in 2022. The 2014 World Series by Renault was the tenth season of Renault Sport's series of events, with three different championships racing under one banner. The is a 150,000 person capacity motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Touring Car Racing
Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition with heavily modified road-going cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. While the cars do not move as fast as those in Formula racing, formula or sports car racing, sports car races, their similarity both to one another and to fans' own vehicles makes for entertaining, well-supported racing. The lesser use of aerodynamics means following cars have a much easier time passing than in open-wheel racing, and the more substantial bodies of the cars makes the subtle bumping and nudging for overtaking much more acceptable as part of racing.
