2014 Carleton Ravens Football Team
The 2014 Carleton Ravens football team represented Carleton University in the 2014 CIS football season. The Ravens played in their 53rd season overall and their second season of Canadian Interuniversity Sport play after a 15-year hiatus. On September 1, when they defeated the Waterloo Warriors 33-14, the team earned the first win for a Ravens football team in 16 years, as the team went winless in 2013. The season ended October 25 with a loss at home against Queen's Gaels, finishing out of the playoffs, but with a 4-4 record. Steve Sumarah
Steven Sumarah is the head coach of the Saint Mary's Huskies of U Sports football. He has also been the head coach of the Canada National Junior Football Team since 2016. As the head coach, he led Team Canada to a IFAF World Junior Championship in 2018 with a 13-7 win over Team Mexico in Mexico City. Coaching career After serving as offensive coordinator for the Saint Mary's Huskies for eight seasons, Sumarah was promoted to head coach of the program in 2006. He led the team to four straight Loney Bowl championships including an appearance in the 2007 Vanier Cup game. He was named coach of the year in 2009. After his dismissal from the Huskies, he was hired on January 16, 2012 to become the head coach of the Carleton Ravens, who began play in 2013. Guelph
Guelph ( ; 2021 Canadian Census population 143,740) is a city in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Alumni Stadium (Guelph)
Alumni Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It is home to the Guelph Gryphons varsity football team. It was built in 1970, and has a fixed seating capacity of approximately 8,500, including fixed seating and the grass hill on the east side of the stadium. On October 27, 2011, it was announced that the stadium would undergo an $18 million expansion and renovation that will bring fixed seating capacity up to 7,500. It was also announced that an eight-lane track would be installed as well as synthetic turf for the field. In addition to football the Gryphons soccer teams also play their home games at the stadium. Windsor Lancers
The Windsor Lancers are the varsity athletic teams that represent the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The school's varsity program supports 9 different sports. Their mascot is a lancer and the team's colours are blue and gold. The varsity teams compete in the Ontario University Athletics provincial conference and the national U Sports organization. The Toronto Varsity Blues is the intercollegiate sports program at the University of Toronto. Its 43 athletic teams regularly participate in competitions held by Ontario University Athletics and U Sports. University Stadium, also known as Knight–Newbrough Field and formerly known as Seagram Stadium, is a football stadium in Waterloo, Ontario with a capacity of 6,000. It is home to the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks football, rugby, and lacrosse teams. It also served for several years as the home field of soccer side K–W United FC which ceased operations in 2018.
