2014 Australian Individual Speedway Championship
The 2014 Individual Speedway Australian Championship was a Motorcycle speedway competition organised by Motorcycling Australia for the Australian Solo Championship. The three final rounds took place between 4 January and 11 January. The championship was won by 2012 World Champion Chris Holder who won his 5th Australian title. Jason Doyle finished in second place with Josh Grajczonek in third. The rounds were held at the Loxford Park Speedway 4 January, Undera Park Speedway on 8 January, with the final round held at Adelaide's Gillman Speedway on 11 January. Australian Individual Speedway Championship
The Australian Solo Championship is a motorcycle speedway championship held each year to determine the Australian national champion. It is organised by Motorcycling Australia (MA) and is the oldest continuously running national speedway championship in the world having been run since 1926 with the exception of 1942-1945 when racing was suspended during World War II and 1955-1961 when the championship was not held. The first Australian Solo Championship in 1926 was held at the Newcastle Showground in Newcastle. It was won by American rider Cecil Brown from Mick Brennan and Roy Hindle. Legendary Danish rider Ole Olsen (1976) and Australia's own Jason Crump (2007) are the only riders who have won the championship while being the reigning Speedway World Champion. Max Fricke
Max Fricke (born 29 March 1996) is an Australian speedway rider. He is a World team champion, twice Australian champion and four times Australian Under-21 Champion. Jack Holder
Jack Holder (born 23 March 1996) in Appin, New South Wales is an Australian speedway rider currently riding for Sheffield Tigers in the British Elite League and Apator Toruń in the Polish Ekstraliga. Jack is a World team champion and his brother Chris Holder is a former World individual champion. Career A successful rider in Australia, he came to England and first rode for Plymouth Gladiators in 2015. After two seasons, he rode for both Peterborough Panthers and Poole Pirates in 2017, helping Poole to win the Elite Shield. Jack Holder finished in sixth place at the 2017 Speedway Under-21 World Championship and 4th in the Jason Crump Classic Cup - considered a warm-up for the Australian Senior Solo Championship. Troy Batchelor
Troy Matthew Batchelor (born 29 August 1987) is an Australian speedway rider. Career Australia Born in Brisbane, Queensland, Troy Batchelor enjoyed his first success when he won the 2001 Queensland and New South Wales Under-16 championships and followed this up by winning the 2003 Australian Under-16 Championship at the Bibra Lake Speedway in Perth. After graduating to the senior ranks following his 16th birthday, Batchelor won the Queensland State Championship in 2007 before he moved to Adelaide in South Australia where he has won the South Australian Championship at the Gillman Speedway five times (2008-2011, 2013). He currently sits all time second on the SA title winners list behind joint record holders John Boulger and the 1951 and 1952 World Champion Jack Young.
