2014 12 Hours Of Sebring
The 62nd Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring fueled by Fresh from Florida was an endurance sports car racing event held at Sebring International Raceway near Sebring, Florida from 13–15 March 2014. The race was the second round of the inaugural Tudor United SportsCar Championship, replacing the former American Le Mans Series that previously held the 12 Hours since 1999, as well as the second round of the North American Endurance Cup. Daytona Prototypes were introduced to the race for the first time as part of the development of the United SportsCar Championship. The race was won by Chip Ganassi Racing's Riley- Ford driven by Scott Pruett, Memo Rojas, and Marino Franchitti, ahead of Extreme Speed Motorsports' HPD-Honda and Action Express Racing's Chevrolet Corvette. Sebring International Raceway is a road course auto racing facility in the southeastern United States, located near Sebring, Florida. Sebring Raceway is one of the oldest continuously operating race tracks in the U.S., its first race being run in 1950. Scott Sharp (born February 14, 1968) is an American professional racing driver in the United SportsCar Championship. He is the son of six-time SCCA champion Bob Sharp. Sharp is best known for his years as a competitor in the Indy Racing League. Early career Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, Sharp starting racing karts when he was eight years old, winning 50 out of 75 races. Jörg Bergmeister (born 13 February 1976, in Leverkusen) is a former racing driver from Germany and an ambassador of Porsche. His late father, Willi Bergmeister, owned a workshop and dealership where Michael Schumacher learned his trade as a car mechanic in the 1980s. Since 1996, Jörg has raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup.
