2013–14 Indian Federation Cup
The 2013–14 Indian Federation Cup was the 35th edition of the Federation Cup, the main domestic cup competition in Indian football. A total of 16 teams played in this edition of the tournament in which they all entered in the group stage consisting of four groups of four teams each. The defending champions were East Bengal, who beat Dempo 3–2 in the 2012 final. The final was played on 25 January 2014 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Kerala between Churchill Brothers and Sporting Goa, with Churchill Brothers winning 3–1. Teams This edition of the Federation Cup saw 16 teams taking part in the tournament, 13 of which came from the ongoing I-League with the other three coming from the I-League 2nd Division. Bengaluru Football Club () is an Indian professional football club based in Bangalore, Karnataka. The club competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football. The club was established on 20 July 2013, and began its first competitive season in the I-League on 22 September the same year. Balwant Singh (footballer)
Balwant Singh (born 15 December 1986) is an Indian professional footballer who last played as a forward for East Bengal in the Indian Super League. Career JCT Born in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Balwant started his footballing journey with Mahilpur Football Club before joining the academy of JCT before being promoted to their senior team in 2008. He scored his first professional goal for the club on 28 September 2008 against Mahindra United in the 64th minute to help JCT to a huge 7–1 victory. He then scored his second goal for the club on 11 October 2008 against Mohammedan in the 45th minute to help JCT to a 2–0 win. Malappuram District Sports Complex Stadium, also known as Payyanad Stadium, is an athletics and football stadium in Kerala, India, located about 7km from Manjeri and 12km from Malappuram. Overview The stadium is part of Malappuram District Sports Complex & Football Academy, under the management of Malappuram District Sports Council.
