The 2013 Turkmenistan Higher League (Ýokary Liga) season was the 21st season of Turkmenistan's professional football league. It began on 12 April 2013 with the first round of games and ended in November 2013. Ashgabat Stadium
The Ashgabat Stadium ( tk, Aşgabat stadiony) is a multi-purpose stadium in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It is currently used mostly for celebrations and football matches. The stadium holds 20,000 people and was built in 2011. History In 2009, on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow allocated funding for construction of a multipurpose stadium for events by 20 thousand seats. Construction led the Turkish company Polimeks. Opening of the stadium Ashgabat was held on 28 October 2011. The opening of the sports complex was attended by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. The opening ceremony on the new stadium was a big colorful presentation devoted to the Independence Day of Turkmenistan. All completed with traditional long colorful fireworks. Amangylych Ovezovich Kochumov or Amangylyç Owezowiç Koçumow ( rus, links=no, Аманклыч Овезович Кочумов, Amanklych Ovezovich Kochumov; born 24 July 1965) is a Turkmen football coach and a former Soviet footballer. Olympic Stadium (Ashgabat)
Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Olympic Stadium ( tk, Saparmyrat Türkmenbaşy adyndaky Olimpiýa Stadiony) is a multi-purpose stadium in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, that stood on the site now occupied by the new Olympic Stadium, built between 2013 and 2017. Overview The stadium held 30,000 people and was built in 2003, named for Saparmurat Niyazov. In 2017, it hosted Asian Olympic Council’s Asian Indoor & Martial Arts games that included participation from Australia and wider Oceania. The wider Ashgabat Olympic Park also hosted the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships. In 2007 the Turkmen government decided to reconstruct the stadium and to enlarge it. The new arena seats up to 45,000 people. The stadium closed in 2012, and was partially demolished in 2013 for redevelopment.
