Eurovision Song Contest 2013
The Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was the 58th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Malmö, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Euphoria" by Loreen. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT), the contest was held at Malmö Arena and consisted of two semi-finals on 14 and 16 May, and a final on 18 May 2013. The three live shows were presented by Swedish comedian and television presenter Petra Mede, being the first time only one host had presented the show since the contest. Former Swedish entrant Eric Saade acted as the green room host in the final. Thirty-nine countries participated, with returning after their one-year absence. , , and all withdrew from the contest for various reasons. Malmö Arena is a multi-purpose List of indoor arenas, indoor arena in Malmö, Sweden, and the venue for home games of Swedish Hockey League, SHL ice hockey club Malmö Redhawks. "Only Teardrops" is a song recorded by Danish singer Emmelie de Forest. The song was written by Lise Cabble, Julia Fabrin Jakobsen and Thomas Stengaard, and it was produced by Frederik Thaae. It is best known as Denmark's winning entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 held in Malmö, Sweden. The song competed in the first semi-final on 14 May 2013 and managed to qualify for a spot in the final on 18 May 2013. The song competed in the final against 25 other songs, and finished in first place with 281 points. Chart performance The song was an instant hit in de Forest's home country of Denmark, where it debuted and peaked at number two on the Danish Singles Chart upon its release. Kevin Walker (born 3 August 1989) is a Swedish footballer and singer. He is a centre midfielder for Örebro SK in the Swedish first-tier league Allsvenskan. Walker was the winner of the 9th series of the Swedish version of '' Idol'' in 2013. Football career Club Walker was born in Örebro, Sweden, and started his football career in Varbergs BoIS. Son of the former Örebro SK manager Patrick Walker, Kevin made his senior debut for Superettan team Örebro SK in the 2006 season.
