2013 World Archery Championships
The 2013 World Archery Championships was the 47th edition of the event. It was held in Belek, Turkey from 29 September to 6 October 2013 and was organised by World Archery Federation (FITA). It will be immediately preceded by the 50th World Archery Federation congress in the same location. Qualification and elimination rounds took place at the Papillon Sports Centre in nearby Kadriye, with the medal matches on 5–6 October on the beach of Belek. For the first time, the event was streamed live on the World Archery Federation YouTube channelArcheryTV The recurve team final was broadcast live on Eurosport 2 and other finals shown on a delay. Belek
Belek is a township in the Serik district in Turkey's Antalya Province. The local population in 2022 is 73,260. Belek is one of the centers of Turkey's tourism industry and is home to more than thirty four-star and five-star hotels and many other accommodation services and entertainment facilities. The town and the surrounding area are famous for their spas and mineral waters received from seven springs. Belek is a developing golf center. 2013 World Archery Championships – Women's Team Compound
The women's team compound competition at the 2013 World Archery Championships took place on 29 September – 6 October 2013 in Belek, Turkey. 18 countries entered the full quota of 3 archers into the qualification round, thus becoming eligible for the team competition. The combined totals of the 3 archers from each country in the qualification round were added together, and the 16 teams with the highest combined scores competed in the elimination rounds. Thomas Faucheron
Thomas Faucheron (born 23 February 1990, in Rennes) is a French archer. At the 2012 Summer Olympics he competed in the Men's team event and the men's individual event. In the individual event, he was 27th after the ranking rounds, and beat Witthaya Thamwong in the first knockout round before losing to teammate Gael Prevost in the second. In the team event, France were ranked second after the ranking round but lost to Mexico in the quarterfinals. Rick Van Der Ven
Rick van der Ven (born 14 April 1991, in Oss) is a Dutch archer who started to practise archery at the age of 8. In 2009 at the World Junior Championship in Ogden, Utah Rick was the runner-up with a silver medal. In 2011 at the World Junior Championship in Legnica, Poland he won silver with the Mixed Team, bronze with the men's team and finished 4th in the individual event. In May 2012 in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam, Van der Ven became European Champion in Outdoor Archery, both individually and in the team event. Sjef Van Den Berg
Sjef van den Berg (born 14 April 1995) is a retired Dutch competitive archer. He has won a total of two medals (a silver in the individual recurve and a bronze for the Dutch team) at the 2015 European Games, and eventually finished fourth in the men's individual archery at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Van der Berg currently trains at HBV Ontspanning in Sint-Oedenrode, under the tutelage of his coach Ron van der Hoff, a former Olympian at the Athens 2004 edition. Born and raised in southern town of Heeswijk-Dinther, van den Berg took up archery as a four-year-old, and then made his international debut in 2010. Jake Kaminski
Jake Kaminski (born August 11, 1988) is an American archer. Personal life Kaminski was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Elma, New York. As of August 2016, he resides in Gainesville, Florida with his wife Heather and children Kai and Genevieve. When not at home, he has resided in Chula Vista, California at the U.S. Olympic Training Center since 2006 to develop his archery skills. Brady Ellison
Brady Ellison (born October 27, 1988) is an American archer who competes in recurve archery. He is currently a Resident Athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. He holds the record for the longest continuous period as the world number-one-ranked men's recurve archer, from August 2011 to April 2013. He earned his nickname "The Prospector" during the 2015 world championships due to his proclivity for 'finding gold'. Personal life As a child, Ellison suffered from Legg–Calvé–Perthes disease and wore leg braces for some time. He has had subsequent health issues with his knees, particularly in the lead-up to and during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and the fingers of his drawing hand. Yun Ok-hee (Korean: 윤옥희, Hanja: 尹玉姬, ; born 1 March 1985) is a South Korean archer, who won the gold medal in the team and a silver in the individual competition at the 2006 Asian Games and is a former world number one. 2008 Summer Olympics At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing Yun finished her ranking round with a total of 667 points, six points behind ranking leader Park Sung-hyun. Maja Jager
Maja Buskbjerg Jager (born 22 December 1991) is a Danish recurve archer. A two-time competitor at the Olympic Games (2012 and 2020), Jager was the women's individual champion at the 2013 World Archery Championships, an achievement for which she was awarded the Danish Sports Name of the Year prize for 2013.
