2013 UAB Blazers Football Team
The 2013 UAB Blazers football team represented the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season as a member of the East Division of Conference USA (C-USA). They were led by second year head coach Garrick McGee and played their home games at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. Not only was it another losing season, but it proved to be McGee's last as head coach, and the penultimate season for the team overall before being reinstated in 2017. Garrick Ladell McGee (born April 6, 1973) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the wide receivers coach at Louisville. He was previously the quarterbacks coach at the University of Florida. McGee was the head football coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) from 2012 to 2013. He has served as the offensive coordinator at Northwestern University, the University of Arkansas, the University of Louisville, and the University of Illinois. McGee played college football as a quarterback at Arizona State University, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, and the University of Oklahoma. The 2013 Marshall Thundering Herd football team represented Marshall University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Doc Holliday and played their home games at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. They were a member of the East Division of Conference USA. Led by eighth-year head coach Rick Stockstill, the Blue Raiders compiled an overall record of 8–5 with a mark 6–2 in conference play to tie for second place in C-USA's East Division. Alamodome
The Alamodome is a 64,000-seat domed indoor multi-purpose stadium in San Antonio, Texas. It is located on the southeastern fringe of downtown San Antonio. The facility opened on May 15, 1993, having been constructed at a cost of $186 million. The multi-purpose facility was intended to increase the city's convention traffic and attract a professional football franchise. It also placated the San Antonio Spurs' demands for a larger arena. The Spurs played in the Alamodome for a decade, then became disenchanted with the facility and convinced Bexar County to construct a new arena for them, now called the AT&T Center. The 2013 UTSA Roadrunners football team represented the University of Texas at San Antonio in the 2013 NCAA Division I FBS football season. This was the third season for football at UTSA and their first as members of the Conference USA in the West Division. Larry Coker returned as the team's head coach for a third season. The Roadrunners played their home games at the Alamodome. A popular battle cry, "We'll go 99," surfaced after the New Mexico game in which UTSA drove the ball 99 yards to score a touchdown and seal the win.
