2013 Lory Meagher Cup
The 2013 Lory Meagher Cup was a hurling competition contested by Tier 4 county sides. Warwickshire, Longford, Leitrim and Fermanagh contested the 2013 competition. Tyrone were the defending champions, having won the 2012 competition, but were unable to defend their title as they were promoted to the Nicky Rackard Cup as a result of their victory. Longford GAA
The Longford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae an Longfort) or Longford GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Longford. The county board is also responsible for the Longford county teams. The county football team won its only National Football League title in 1966 with a one-point victory over Galway in the Home Final and an aggregate win over New York in the Final. The 2013 Christy Ring Cup was the ninth staging of the Christy Ring Cup hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 2005. The cup competition began on 4 May 2013 and ended on 8 June 2013. London were defending champions, however, they were promoted to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. Down won the title following a 3-16 to 2-17 victory over Kerry in the final. 2013 Ulster Senior Hurling Championship
The 2013 Ulster Senior Hurling Championship was the 68th installment of the annual Ulster Senior Hurling Championship held under the auspices of the Ulster GAA. Antrim were the defending champions, and secured their twelfth consecutive title in a much delayed final played against Down on 2 February 2014. The delays, which arose from a fixture clash caused by a semi-final draw between Down and Derry, and exacerbated by a ban on inter-county training in the winter of 2013, was heavily criticised for undermining the competition. The winners, Antrim, in fact never played a single match of the 2013 Championship in 2013, having progressed automatically to the final. The 2013 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 126th staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment in 1887. The draw for the 2013 fixtures took place on 4 October 2012. The championship began on 5 May 2013 and ended on 28 September 2013 with Clare winning their fourth All Ireland title after a 5–16 to 3–16 win against Cork in the replayed final. Kilkenny were the defending champions. However, they were knocked out of the Leinster Championship by eventual Leinster champions Dublin at the semi-final stage and Cork saw them off in the All-Ireland quarter-final. The Lory Meagher Cup (; often referred to as the Meagher Cup) is the fifth-highest inter-county senior championship in hurling. Each year, the champion team in the Lory Meagher Cup is promoted to the Nicky Rackard Cup. The Lory Meagher Cup, which was introduced for the 2009 season, provides a meaningful championship for fifth tier teams deemed "too weak" for the fourth tier Nicky Rackard Cup. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals. Brewster Park is a GAA stadium in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is the home ground of the Enniskillen Gaels and the County ground of Fermanagh GAA. The ground was renovated in 2007 and now has a capacity of roughly 18,000. The ground was named for Mickey Brewster, a Fermanagh and Enniskillen Gaels player and father of Paul Brewster. Pearse Park is a GAA stadium in Longford, County Longford, Republic of Ireland. It is the main grounds of Longford's Gaelic football and hurling teams. In 2012, the stadium was renamed Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, due to sponsorship with Glennon Brothers, a local timber firm. The 2010 Lory Meagher Cup was the 2nd annual fourth-tier hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The teams competing were Cavan, Donegal, Fermanagh, Leitrim, Longford, South Down, and Warwickshire. The 2009 champions, Tyrone were promoted to the 2010 Nicky Rackard Cup, and did not have the opportunity to defend their title.
