2013 Gastein Ladies is the 2013 edition of the outdoor clay courts women's tennis tournament Gastein Ladies. It was the seventh edition of the tournament, which was part of the 2013 WTA Tour. It took place in Bad Gastein, Austria between 13 and 21 July 2013. Yvonne Meusburger won the singles title. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Clay courts are made of crushed stone, brick, shale, or other unbound mineral aggregate depending on the tournament. The French Open uses clay courts, the only Grand Slam tournament to do so. Clay courts are more common in Continental Europe and Latin America than in North America, Asia-Pacific or Britain. Two main types exist: red clay, the more common variety, and green clay, also known as "rubico", which is a harder surface. Although less expensive to construct than other types of tennis courts, the maintenance costs of clay are high as the surface must be rolled to preserve flatness. Patricia Mayr-Achleitner
Patricia Mayr-Achleitner (née Mayr; born 8 November 1986 in Rum, Tyrol, Rum) is a retired Austrian tennis player. Mayr-Achleitner won 17 singles and seven doubles titles on the International Tennis Federation, ITF Circuit in her career. On 4 May 2009, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 70. On 29 September 2014, she peaked at No. 117 in the doubles rankings. Playing for Austria Fed Cup team, Austria at the Fed Cup, Mayr-Achleitner had a win–loss record of 14–15. On 4 December 2010 she married her coach Michael Achleitner. On 22 July 2015 after her loss at the 2015 Gastein Ladies, Mayr-Achleitner announced that the 2015 Generali Ladies Linz would be her last tournament, stating chronic back pain as the reason for her retirement from professional tennis. Tatjana Maria (née Malek; born 8 August 1987) is a German professional tennis player. In November 2017, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 46, and in June 2016, she peaked at No. 54 in the doubles rankings. Mirjana Lučić-Baroni
Mirjana Lučić-Baroni (; ; born 9 March 1982) is a Croatian former professional tennis player. She enjoyed a meteoric rise on the WTA Tour in the late 1990s, during which she set several "youngest-ever" records. She captured the women's doubles title at the 1998 Australian Open when she was 15 years old, partnered with Martina Hingis. She also won the first ever professional tournament she entered, the 1997 Croatian Ladies Open, and defended it the following year at age 16, making her the youngest player in history to successfully defend a title. She then reached the semifinals of the 1999 Wimbledon Championships, beating world No. 4, Monica Seles, and eighth seed Nathalie Tauziat, the previous year's finalist, before she lost to Steffi Graf in three sets. Lucie Hradecká
Lucie Hradecká (; born 21 May 1985) is a Czech former professional tennis player. A three-time Grand Slam doubles champion and 26-time WTA Tour doubles titlist, she reached her career-high doubles ranking of world No. 4 in October 2012. She was also an integral member of the Czech Republic's national team and helped her country to win five titles at the Fed Cup (now Billie Jean King Cup) between 2011 and 2016, in addition to winning two Olympic medals in both women's doubles with Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková in 2012 and in mixed doubles with Radek Štěpánek in 2016. Melinda Czink (born 22 October 1982) is a former professional tennis player from Hungary. On 21 September 2009, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 37. Alizé Cornet (; born 22 January 1990) is a French professional tennis player. Jana Čepelová (; born 29 May 1993) is an inactive Slovak tennis player. She has won seven singles titles and three doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Dia Evtimova ( bg, Диа Евтимова; born 30 April 1987) is a Bulgarian tennis player. On 31 October 2011, she reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of 145 whilst her best doubles ranking was 228 on 23 June 2014.
