2013 Clare County Hurling Team Season
The 2013 season was Davy Fitzgerald's second year as manager of the Clare senior hurling team. Clare County Hurling Team
The Clare county hurling team represents Clare in hurling and is governed by Clare GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions - the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Clare's home ground is Cusack Park, Ennis. The team's manager is Brian Lohan from Wolfe Tones, Shannon. The team last won the Munster Senior Championship in 1998, the All-Ireland Senior Championship in 2013 and the National League in 2016. Brendan Bugler
Brendan Bugler (born 1985) is an Irish hurler who played as a right wing-back for the Clare senior team. Bugler made his first appearance for the team during the 2007 National League and became a regular player over the last few seasons of his playing career. During that time he has won one All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, one National League (Division 1B) medal, one Waterford Crystal Cup medal and two All-Star award. At club level Bugler plays with Whitegate. He served as a Wexford senior hurling team selector under the management of Davy Fitzgerald from October 2019, replacing Stephen Molumphy. Podge Collins
Pádraic "Podge" Collins (born 14 January 1992) is an Irish Gaelic footballer and hurler who plays as a right wing-forward for the Clare senior team. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Clare minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 2012 championship. Collins has since gone on to play a key role for Clare, and has won one All-Ireland medal. At club level Collins is a dual senior championship medallist with Cratloe. Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA
Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the village of Newmarket-on-Fergus, in County Clare, Ireland. The club has the distinction of winning the first ever Clare Senior Football Championship and has won the Clare Senior Hurling Championship more times than any other club. Ballyea GAA
Ballyea is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Ballyea, County Clare, Ballyea/Clarecastle in County Clare, Ireland founded in 1935. History In 2016 Clare Senior Hurling Championship, 2016, Ballyea coached by Robbie Hogan won their first ever Clare Senior Hurling Championship when they defeated Clonlara GAA, Clonlara in the final by 2–14 to 1–14 after a replay. Tony Kelly (hurler)
Tony Kelly (born 15 December 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays for Clare Senior Championship club Ballyea and at inter-county level with the Clare county hurling team. Early life Kelly attended St Flannan's College in Ennis for his secondary education and as of 2021 works in the school as a teacher as well as coaching the senior hurling team. Playing career Clare Minor and under-21 Kelly first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Clare minor team in 2010. He won his first Munster medal that year following a 1-16 to 1-11 defeat of Waterford. Clare subsequently qualified for the All-Ireland decider against Kilkenny, however, Kelly's side faced a narrow 2-10 to 0-14 defeat. In 2011 Kelly was appointed captain of the Clare minor team. John Conlon
John Conlon (born 23 January 1989) is an Irish hurler who plays for Clare Senior Championship club Clonlara and is the captain of the Clare senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a full-forward. Playing career St. Flannan's College Conlon played in all grades of hurling with St. Flannan's College in Ennis before progressing onto the college's senior team. On 12 March 2006, he was introduced as a substitute when St. Flannan's College suffered a 2-08 to 0-12 defeat by Midleton CBS Secondary School in the Harty Cup final. On 1 May 2006, Conlon broke onto the starting fifteen when he was selected at full-forward for the All-Ireland final against Dublin Colleges. He scored a point from play in the 1-11 to 0-11 defeat. Cratloe GAA
Cratloe GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Cratloe, County Clare, Ireland. The club deals with both Gaelic football and hurling and basketball. The club competes in Clare GAA competitions. In November 2013, Cratloe won their first ever Clare Senior Football Championship title, defeating Doonbeg by 0-10 to 0-7. They reached the 2013 Munster Senior Club Football Championship final on 1 December, but were defeated 0-13 to 0-12 by Dr Crokes. In 2014, Cratloe won the Clare Senior Hurling championship on 5th October and the Clare Senior Football Championship seven days later. Conor Ryan (hurler)
Conor Ryan is an Irish people, Irish former hurling, hurler who played at midfield for the Clare GAA, Clare senior team. At club level Ryan played with Cratloe GAA, Cratloe. He is the older brother of Clare hurler Diarmuid Ryan. Career Ryan made his Senior Championship debut on 2 June 2013 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, 2013 against Waterford GAA, Waterford, starting in midfield in a 2-20 to 1-15 victory. Ryan was named as the ''Man of the Match'' in the drawn 2013 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final against Cork GAA, Cork. Colm Galvin
Colm Galvin (born 2 February 1993) is an Irish hurler who previously played as a midfielder for the Clare senior team. Galvin joined the team during the 2012 championship and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. A Munster medalist in the minor grade and a Munster and All-Ireland medalist in the under-21 grade. At club level Galvin plays with Clonlara. Galvin missed the start of the 2015 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship as he was spending the summer in Boston. He returned from Boston at the end of June and rejoined the Clare hurling panel. Galvin attended NUI Galway. In February 2022, Galvin announced his retirement from inter-county hurling. Tubber GAA
Tubber GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Tubber, County Clare, Tubber, County Clare, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. History Located near the village of Tubber, County Clare, Tubber, County Clare and overlooking the Burren, Tubber GAA Club affiliated to the Clare GAA, Clare County Board in 1885. Patrick O'Connor (born 6 February 1991) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Tubber and was a member of the Clare senior inter-county team from 2011 until he retired form inter-county hurling in 2022.
