2013 China Open Super Series Premier
The 2013 China Open is a top level badminton competition which took place on November 12–17, 2013 in Shanghai, China. It was the eleventh BWF Super Series competition on the 2013 BWF Super Series schedule. The total purse for the event is $450,000. A qualification round was held for three of the five disciplines. BWF Super Series
The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007. Since 2011, the Super Series includes two levels of tournament, Super Series Premier and Super Series. A season of Super Series featured twelve tournaments around the world, including five of them classified as Super Series Premier. Super Series Premier tournament offers higher ranking point and higher minimum total prize money. Top eight players/pairs in each discipline in Super Series standings are invited to the Super Series Finals held at the year end. BWF announced a new tournament structure in March 2017, BWF World Tour together with the new hosts for 2018–2021 cycle to replace this Super Series tournaments. Parupalli Kashyap
Parupalli Kashyap (born 8 September 1986) is an Indian badminton player. A former World No.6, he trains at Gopichand Badminton Academy. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2012. He created history by reaching the quarter-finals of men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics, being the first male player from India to do so. At the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal in men's singles. Kashyap was the Icon Player for the Indian Badminton League team, Banga Beats in the 2013 edition. He married fellow badminton player, Saina Nehwal in a private ceremony on 14 December 2018. Sony Dwi Kuncoro (born 7 July 1984) is a badminton singles player from Indonesia. He was the 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Championships medalist (silver–2007, bronze–2009) and three-time Asian Champion (2002, 2003, 2005). Tian Houwei (; born 11 January 1992) is a badminton player from China. He was the 2009 World and Asian Junior Champions in the boys' singles event. Chong Wei Feng
Chong Wei Feng (born 26 May 1987) is a Malaysian retired badminton player. He was drafted into the national team in 2004. His best achievement is reaching the semi-finals of the 2012 and 2013 China Open, where he was defeated by Chen Long on both occasions. Background Chong was born on 26 May 1987 in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Chong started playing badminton at the age of nine, where he went to a private coaching centre. Wang Zhengming (born 16 February 1990) is a Chinese badminton player from Guangzhou, Guangdong. He was the boys' singles gold medalists at the 2008 Asian and World Junior Championships. Theratil Rajiv Ouseph (born 30 August 1986) is a former badminton player from England who represented both England and Great Britain in the international tournaments. Ouseph was the European Champion, winning in 2017. Ouseph was born and brought up in London and is of Indian descent. Viktor Axelsen (born 4 January 1994) is a Danish badminton player. He is the 2017 and 2022 World champion and the 2020 Olympic champion. He won the 2010 World Junior Championships, beating South Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European singles player to hold the title. Vladimir Alexandrovich Ivanov (russian: Владимир Александрович Иванов; born 3 July 1987) is a Russian badminton player. He was the champion at the 2014 and 2021 European Championships, and also the 2016 All England Open partnering with Ivan Sozonov.
