2013 Australian Swimming Championships
The 2013 Australian Swimming Championships were held from 26 April until 3 May 2013 at the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Adelaide, South Australia. They doubled up as the national trials for the 2013 World Aquatics Championships. Qualification criteria Below were the entry qualifying times for each event that had to be achieved after 1 January 2012 in a 50m pool. Below were the FINA A and B qualifying times for the 2013 World Aquatics Championships for each event. Ryan Napoleon
Ryan Napoleon (born 26 May 1990) is an Australian freestyle swimmer and Commonwealth Games medallist. Career Youth Swimming Napoleon won gold in the 4×200m freestyle relay, silver in the 4×100m medley relay and bronze in the 100m butterfly whilst representing Australia at the Youth Olympic Festival. At the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India, Napoleon won gold in the 200m freestyle, 4×100m freestyle, 4×200m freestyle, 4×100m medley relays as well as silver in the 100m freestyle. During the 2008 Oceania Swimming Championships held in Christchurch, New Zealand, Napoleon won gold in the 4×200m relay and bronze in the 200m butterfly. Christian Sprenger
Christian David Sprenger (born 19 December 1985) is an Australian former breaststroke swimmer. He trains at the Commercial Swimming Club under Simon Cusack. Swimming career At the 2008 Australian Swimming Championships he qualified in the 100- and 200-metre breaststroke, placing second in both events to qualify for the Olympics in Beijing. He failed to make the finals in either event but picked up a silver after swimming in the heats of the medley relay. Later on in the year he won nine individual FINA World Cup races during the 2008 series. He also won seven silvers and three bronze. Sprenger had his first individual success at global level in 2009, breaking Kosuke Kitajima's world record in the semifinals of the 200m breaststroke, and took taking two bronze medals at the World Championships in Rome. Mitch Larkin
Mitchell James Larkin (born 9 July 1993) is an Australian competitive swimmer who specialises in backstroke events. He currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League. Larkin competed for Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2020 Summer Olympics. Career 2014 Larkin won a gold medal in the 200 meter backstroke and a silver medal in both the 50 meter and 100 meter backstroke at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. 2015 He won two gold in the 100 meter and 200 meter backstroke at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia. Benjamin Treffers (born 15 August 1991) is an Australian competitive swimmer who has participated in the FINA world championships and Commonwealth Games. Treffers is the current Australian Record Holder in the 50m backstroke event Treffers also won the title of 2012 Australian Champion in the 50m backstroke event and is trained by the Australian Institute of Sport. Daniel Arnamnart
Daniel Arnamnart (born 14 September 1989) is an Australian competitive swimmer who specialises in backstroke events. Early years Arnamnart was born in Wahroonga, New South Wales. He was educated at Asquith Boys High School. Arnamnart completed at the 2006 Australian Short Course Swimming Championships reaching the finals of all three backstroke events. He finished 5th in 50 metres, 4th in the 200 metres and won the bronze medal in the 100 metre event finishing behind the winner in all three events Matt Welsh. Melbourne Vicentre is a swimming club based at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Melbourne, Australia. Its head coach is 1992 Olympian Craig Jackson, supported by Kenrick Monk, Brad Harris and others. Prior to his resignation in 2017, Ian Pope was head coach of Vicentre for 16 years. Vicentre is one of the largest clubs in Victoria, and Swimming Australia Podium Performance Centre. Mackenzie James Horton (born 25 April 1996) is an Australian freestyle swimmer. He is an Olympic gold medallist, World Championships medallist, and Commonwealth Games medallist.
