The 2012–13 Lega Basket Serie A was the 91st season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the top level basketball league in Italy. The season started 26 September 2012 and ended on 19 June 2013. Montepaschi Siena initially won the championship. However, their championship was revoked in 2016 after investigations exposed financial and fiscal fraud. The 2011–12 Lega Basket Serie A was the 90th season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the top level basketball league in Italy. The season started on 9 October 2011 and ended on 6 May 2012. Montepaschi Siena initially won the national title. However, in 2016 their championship was revoked after investigations showed financial and fiscal fraud. Pallacanestro Biella, known as Angelico Biella for sponsorship reasons, is an Italian professional basketball club based in Biella, Piedmont. It plays in the second division Serie A2 as of the 2015-16 season. For past club sponsorship names, see sponsorship names. History Associazione Sportiva Pallacanestro Biella was formed in 1994 from the merger of two local sides, Biella Basket Club and Amici del Basket Biella. It started playing in the Italian fourth division, moving up to the second division by 1999. A team coached by Marco Crespi and containing players like Corey Brewer (basketball, born 1975) and Antonio Granger helped Biella reach the first division Serie A in 2001 (thirty years after another Biella side, Libertas, had been relegated). History 1970s Pallacanestro Reggiana was founded on 3 September 1974 by eight friends who wanted to establish a club that would unite the basketball community of Reggio Emilia. Sutor Basket Montegranaro, is an amateur Italian basketball club based in Montegranaro, Marche. It plays in the Promozione (7th division) as of June 2015. It was formerly in the top division, with the 2013-14 season its last in Lega Basket Serie A before on and off the court issues led to the club leaving the professional world. History The basketball club was founded in 1955 by local parish priest Don Gaetano Campanelli from Porto San Giorgio as ''Società Sportiva Sutor'', ''sutor'' being a Latin word for shoemaker, the main local source of employment at the time.
