2012–13 Danish Superliga
The 2012–13 Danish Superliga season was the 23rd season of the Danish Superliga, which decided the Danish football championship. It marked the 100 year anniversary of the first ever Danish Football Championship, held in 1912–13. The season began on 13 July 2012 and ended on 20 May 2013. Teams Lyngby Boldklub and HB Køge finished the 2011–12 season in 11th and 12th place, respectively, and were relegated to the 2012–13 1st Division. The relegated teams were replaced by 2011–12 1st Division champions Esbjerg fB and runners-up Randers FC. Danish Superliga
The Danish Superliga ( da, Superligaen, ) is the current Danish football championship tournament, and administered by the Danish Football Association. It is the highest football league in Denmark and is currently contested by 12 teams each year, with two teams relegated. History Founded in 1991, the Danish Superliga replaced the Danish 1st Division as the highest league of football in Denmark. From the start in 1991, 10 teams were participating. The opening Superliga season was played during the spring of 1991, with the ten teams playing each other twice for the championship title. From the summer of 1991, the tournament structure would stretch over two calendar years. The 10 teams would play each other twice in the first half of the tournament. In the following spring, the bottom two teams would be cut off, the points of the teams would be cut in half, and the remaining eight teams would once more play each other twice, for a total of 32 games in a season. Teams AC Horsens and Silkeborg IF finished the 2012–13 season in 11th and 12th place, respectively, and were relegated to the 2013–14 1st Division. Horsens () is a city on the east coast of Jutland region of Denmark. It is the seat of the Horsens municipality. AaB, (full name: ''Aalborg Boldspilklub'', ) internationally referred to as Aalborg BK, or sometimes also known as AaB Aalborg, is a professional football team located in Aalborg. FC Midtjylland
FC Midtjylland (, "Central Jutland") is a Danish professional football club based in Herning and Ikast in the western part of Jutland. The club is the result of a merger between Ikast FS and Herning Fremad. Midtjylland competes in the Danish Superliga, which they have won three times, most recently in 2020. Club history FC Midtjylland was founded by Johnny Rune, a carpenter and owner of a private business in the wood-supply industry, and Steen Hessel, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer. 2011–12 Danish 1st Division
The 2011–12 Danish 1st Division season is the 16th season of the Danish 1st Division league championship, governed by the Danish Football Association. It is set to start on 12 August 2011 with Viborg FF facing off against FC Hjørring. The final matches of the season are scheduled for 10 June 2012. This will be the only season with a fourteen-club First Division. As only one team will be promoted from the Second Divisions, the league will be reduced to twelve teams from the next season, switching to the same system as the Superliga with three round-robin rounds and two relegation spots. The division-champion and runners-up are promoted to the 2012–13 Danish Superliga. The teams in the 12th, 13th and 14th places are relegated to the 2012–13 Danish 2nd Divisions. The 2012–13 Danish 1st Division season was the 17th season of the Danish 1st Division league championship, governed by the Danish Football Association. This was the first season with a twelve-club First Division. The divisional champions and runners-up are promoted to the 2013–14 Danish Superliga. The teams in the 11th and 12th places are relegated to the 2013–14 Danish 2nd Divisions. Participants Lyngby Boldklub and HB Køge finished the 2011–12 season of the Superliga in 11th and 12th place, respectively, and were relegated to the 1st Division. They replaced Esbjerg fB and Randers FC, who were promoted to the 2012–13 Danish Superliga. HB Køge
HB Køge () is a professional Danish football club based primarily in the town of Herfølge, and secondly in the town of Køge, both in the Køge Municipality, part of 'Region of Zealand', in the eastern part of Zealand, south of Copenhagen. It was created through the merger of Herfølge Boldklub and Køge Boldklub in 2009. History The Danish 1st Division club Herfølge Boldklub and bankrupt club Køge Boldklub decided in March 2009 to merge. Lyngby Boldklub
Lyngby Boldklub () is a Danish professional football club founded in 1921. It is based at Lyngby Stadion in Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, a northern suburb of Copenhagen. From 1994 to 2001 the club was known as Lyngby FC. The club has won the Danish championship twice (1983 and 1992) and the Danish Cup three times (1984, 1985 and 1990). History The club was first founded on 8 April 1906 but it was disbanded again in 1915 due to problems with where they were allowed to play.
